I’ve never used them. I mean, it’s an MMO, I want to do dungeons with other players, not an AI. Also, I have really bad memories from my squadron’s leveling experience. I know they are way better but meh...

I use them to level DPS jobs since DPS queues are longer than instant on tank/heals and I can at least trust the trust NPCs not to be complete retards where using the DF, you never know what you are going to get.
I've enjoyed using it to solidify mechanics in my brain because things move a bit slower and if there's a particular drop that I've wanted, but had bad luck on rolls with.
I didn't use them at all as I progressed through MSQ.
I level'd up some additional jobs with them later so I could get the achievement associated with them.
Since getting the achievement I've used them ONE time when I had a "more than 30m" wait to direct queue into a level relevant dungeon. At this point, most tanks are doing big pulls so it did feel painfully slow running with Trusts... I haven't run into another "more than 30m" since then so I've just been using DF with random players. 3 more jobs to 80 and it will no longer be a thing on my radar at all.
I only ever used trusts once for each dungeon. I do PLAN on leveling my trusts at some point - but not because I think they're useful in any way, but simply because I do basically everything in this game.
Nope I don't have any interest in it and never will use it. Bet it's just like squadrons dungeon runs which I never have liked. For leveling I just run heaven on high and main story roulette for exp. Normal queue for my healer is instant for dungeons. Now if they add Greg as one of trust npc. I might use it.
I like the minion example people use for helpfulness of trusts, to be honest I never thought of that. That is pretty cool.
I still avoid them due to how long they take compared to my normal DF (+it's a roulette so bonus exp), but the idea that I can actually get the minions without much hassle is a nice idea lol. (I'll probably level them at some point, it's just kind of a low priority due to speed).
Could you elaborate on why you think Trusts are good but Squadrons are not? Squadrons, once you get the damage rank, go very fast (faster than most DF groups). Meanwhile Trusts go slower than most DF groups by a decent margin (in my experience).
For reference, if it's helpful, I've only ran the trust system once for each dungeon on Paladin, to get the dialog and character experience (I like the characters, just didn't love the speed- can't mass AoE pull with them since they don't bother to AoE anyways lol).
Is it because Trusts work for content that is current while squadrons are off in their own ancient land? Not sure but I feel I missed something. Of course Trusts are a bit less brain dead (and interesting personality wise :)), but you can still use Squadrons to level pretty easily and quickly (avoiding the dungeons that are harder).
I do like the personality and brains of the trust members, just wondering why you thought one was a waste of time (the one that imo is the fastest) and the other (imo the slowest) is better.
No wrong answer (looking for opinion), only purpose is to kill my curious cat lol. Wondering if I missed something maybe (for my own personal usage).
IMO, Trusts are a very positive addition to the game when you consider que times on DPS being terrible majority of the time. Having said that though, they should be adjusted further to actually AOE groups of 3 or more mobs. That change alone could be a big boost to the usage of them and would significantly slim down the time it takes to run a dungeon with them (~30 mins)
I’ve seen plenty of videos, read guides and looked into it before discarding it. The one thing that is most crucial and absolutely necessary to learn is how to use your toolkit to deal with wall to wall pulls. Not sure what there is left to learn that you shouldn’t already know by lvl 70. Trusts do nothing for you here, if anything the one thing I’ve heard repeatedly is hat trusts are great if you’re semi-afk and can’t fully focus during your play session. So back to the point, doesn’t do a great job of teaching you how to play your tank/healer properly.
Yeah that’s fair.
