Yeah, that's how I've always made my videos. More often than not, though, I grow impatient if the rate at which the film is progressing isn't up to speed with what I'd like. Seeing as it's just a hobby, some times I just throw stuff at it to make it work and call it a day. Not going to get any better doing that, but, eh.
The "Soul of the Adventurer" captures this a lot, though. I thought out each scene in advance and did my best to sync up the heated combat and powerful moments in film with the strong movements of the piece. Give moments such as the scene with Cid, or the Shield Bash that much more "umpf". Or the scenes with White Mage syncing over the more gentle and peaceful movement.
