It costs that much to buy the logograms to make sac. People are not going to use something they spent that much gil to acquire, unless that someone is a part of helping them achieve the goal of completing BA.

Given how unpleasant the discords sound I'm not surprised people don't want to join. Your expected to accommodate the people who get into BA as you would anyone else you play with in PUG content, they have not forced someone else out of the run they are as entitled to be there as anyone else who meets the requirements.

I first of all don't always have discord running.
Secondly, I am already in about 12 different discord servers, some where I am an Admin/Owner. Hopping online always means dealing with mod stuff, people and interacting, something I really don't have time for when running BA in FFXIV.
It's not about an exclusive club, it's simply having yet another thing that needs attention, maintenance and involvement.

I will preface this with I have no been in BA, nor do I have any particular desire to do so.

That said, what do you (general you) gain by not going into Discord. You have a right to go into the portals, to be sure, however if you do so you simply are not going to progress. You gain nothing by being obstinate about it. If you could somehow sneak through to a win, then maybe I could see it..... but reality is you are cutting your nose off to spite your face.

I'm in the discord and it isn't unpleasant at all. People making premade parties aren't trying to run the content as a PUG, that's the whole point. You're forcing yourself on 50+ other people. They have no reason whatsoever to try and accommodate you just because you hopped into a portal.

If you wanna run a PUG for BA, do it in an instance with no discord group forming. You can try to do otherwise by sniping a portal, but you're just gonna end up trying to solo it, and we all know how that ends. RIP.

The Logos action Sacrifice L is the *only* way to raise someone in Baldesion Arsenal. To make it, it requires the combination of Esuna L, Raise L, and Magic Burst L. That is a minimum (as what comes out of a Logogram is random) of two fundamental and one obscure Logograms. Go ahead and see how much they are on the marketboard on your server.

Also, keep in mind that Sacrifice L dooms the person that casts it, killing them. Best case scenario, the Logogram Spirit of the Remembered procs, which means they need to switch to a different set of Logograms afterwards, wasting whatever was in the vial they had before. Worst case, a different healer has to Sacrifice L *them* and hope *their* Remembered procs.

Baldesion Arsenal is not *just* a time investment.

From what I've heard from my friends and discord groups those who tend to wander into the portals are a mixed bunch. I also don't understand why someone who is in the know-how wouldn't join a discord group; at least those who don't fall into a specific group of people who have reasons not to join the discord - like hostile users from them/anxieties etc.

For the most part, what gets me about this is just the new people who wanted to step in and see it and have some fun. It certainly doesn't help when someone takes the portal without being in a premade and then they're just 'blacklisted' so they can't join that particular discord because of that incident. I really hope none of the BA groups is just blocking them from discords right off the get-go, and the rule is; not to take a portal if another group has already staked claim to that instance; which makes more sense than 'you snipe, you banned', which was overly harsh.

So yes, I totally understand it when people cock a brow when someone who knows that the discord communication is needed but doesn't take it anyway; but that's how it goes in MMOs. I am however firmly against the harassment of them since you never know, could just be a cute little smol who was simply curious. I've done it before myself in another game - quite by accident. I was curious one time in ESO and touched a portal that spawned a crap ton of mobs meant for group parties! Curiosity happens! People should know by now that some folks aren't glued to the computer and researching this and are just going in blind. It's a game, after all, some folks treat is just like that.

I agree with everything you've said, though I feel inclined to point out that there was a literal disclaimer saying that BA wouldn't be fun before you can complete the quest to unlock it.

yea, I completely get that too. If someone is just confused and unaware that is one thing. The problem is, you can't really tell if they're just pretending to be clueless to try and get a clear without working for it since we know for sure that has happened before. The root of the issue is the way entry was designed in the first place. People should be complaining about that instead of the discord groups.
