I've Lost Everything

I hear you Elamys. My ward is mostly green all houses taken, open and decorated but I have not seen anyone in the time I have been here. Nobody riding or walking by, nobody being nosey as I like to and peeking inside and nobody at the MBs. Heck I never even see anyone inside while I am being nosey lol. Using "the community experience" as a reason for timers falls on deaf ears here because we residents know the truth.

Setting aside the disgusting comments about my near death experience... (I honestly hope you never experience it. I imagine you're about 22 and think you're invincible. I hope you're correct until you're old and grey)

I don't care about demo timers. It's piss poor game design, but I don't care. I want the gil and items I farmed for months. It's insane that a forced departure from the game is punished like this.

But end of the day, it just a game. You wish to regain your virtual currency and items?

Why not? Some of those items cost money directly from the mog-shop, others took time and effort to acquire. It's perfectly reasonable to ask that they be stored indefinitely until a player returns to the game. Storage is cheap nowadays, so losing items like this simply due to taking a break from logging in (you can still be paying a sub and lose items, remember) is completely unacceptable.

People take breaks from mmos all the time. I can go back to WoW after almost 3 years absent now, and everything I own will still be there. As far as I know, this game is unique in removing items from players.

But OP was talking about items he farmed, not bought. Then I could understand.
He making a big deal about his accident and i get it but my point was it just a game and if you been away due to near death experience regaining items etc in a game would be the last thing on my mind. Maybe I just don't understand the arguement here.

The point is there is no legitimate reason for SE to auto delete a players housing items and gil after the 35 day timer expires. They items don't take up any real space other than a table entry they already tie to the user. Even with a full large house the storage required to hold it is insignificant. The better way to handle it is to wait until the player returns and let them decide the disposition of the housing items on a per item basis. This would allow the player to save those that cost money or were hard to get rare items unlike now where they are just gone.

He wasn't making a big deal out of it though until people like Deathrage and Falling attacked him? Why is it nobody allowed to speak their opinion or thoughts on something they don't like in the game without people taking it the wrong way and making it sound like he was crying over it. He unhappy with the fact that all his items he worked for are now tossed out the window, and he has a right to be unhappy about it.

And we need to stop with the "it just a game." line. It a game that he, like the rest of us, paid $12.99-14.99. It a game that is ripping content away from it paying players when it shouldn't be. It punishing players for the company mistakes. How do you people feel that even right? I hate saying this all the time but it never seems to get through anyone heads, but, what game do you know out there that pulls this same crap that SE is doing to it paying customers? Hell, not even in XI did we get this kind of treatment from SE. Their whole "limited resource" crap is getting old. I'd not complain if I knew they were working on ways to get more resources for the game, but they aren't.

Point is, nobody items and gil should be deleted. Again, housing demo, it whatever. We're forever punished for SE mistake in not doing it right, but our items and gil should be stored for an unlimited time.

*Edit - Also want to add that yes, the OP had a near death experience and judging by his posts he's doing ok enough to re-sub and play again. I think that earn him the right to care a little about his gaming experience and his items being deleted.

Anyone saying what they would and wouldn't do half a year post serious accident should try it and lemme know. Maybe we could start a club.
