No, a constructive argument for a change or discussion about a topic relavent to the game is always great to see on here. You haven't done that though, you're just annoyed that SE hasn't given in to the screeching of tons of Balmung players and deciding to spread your annoyance with more screeching.


Clearly that hasn't worked yet, maybe it's time to try something else like doing something about your issue.

I'm a WHM main. If I find an issue in their kit or have an idea about how to improve them my only recourse is to express those thoughts on the OF or elsewhere. I can't fix those problems myself. The difference between that sort of discussion and your petulant rant thread is that you have 100% control over your situation and could remedy it at any time. Instead of taking any of the options available to you thought you choose to stomp your feet and cry about how you want this specific solution to your problem.

I'll have sympathy for you when things like huge gil transfer bumps, housing reimbursement, other worlds with bustling RP communities and free transfers aren't on the table. Since they are though I will maintain that you should suck it up and make a choice.

Implementing an auto-AFK kick fixed the queues within days. Server locks were ineffective. Server creation policy should not live in the past. There is no evidence of server instability issues at the present time, and we're years away from another expansion that could potentially cause similar issues (which will likely be fixed next time around by implementing an auto-AFK kick and other less restrict measures).

We have absolutely no way to see what is going on behind the scenes with the servers. SE has all the information, we do not, and they will handle the servers as they see fit. That is the bottom line. All your whinging, especially in this matter, will only serve to push people away who may have actually cared what happens to Balmung.

This argument is rooted in speculation, circular logic, and is not an argument in the first place. The argument amounts to little more than the following tautological nonsense: "the server is locked because SE says its locked and SE is right because it says its right." This is not valid reasoning or the basis of any respectable opinion. The entire point of this thread (and others like it) is to apprise the development team of the need to unlock the server.

SE owns Balmung. SE owns your character. SE can do whatever it likes with either of those things.

Don't you think with all the whining about unlocking Balmung if it was a viable option they would have done it by now? They've proven with Gilga that when population reduction happens they're content to open things back up.

He simply wants it open now and refuses to accept any reasoning. He's just crying and throwing around "fallacious arguments" so that he doesn't have to actually come up with anything himself. This is an attention topic of someone stomping their feet for something and shutting everyone down. Just need to let him have his temper tantrum because he refuses to accept how things around or the options ahead of him. He wants what he wants, he wants it now and he's willing to hide behind whatever pseudo reasoning he's come up with. Best thing to honestly do is ignore the topic and not give him the attention he wants in this, just let his topic fade.

Only on the internet would a tautological argument deplete of foundation and evidence (i.e. - SE IS SE AND IS RIGHT BECAUSE IT IS SE AND SE SAYS SO) be confused with "reasoning" or construed as "opinion."

I can only point back to the arguments made in the OP, which have not been rebutted or addressed in any meaningful capacity (don't worry - it's because the arguments are sound and raise valid points).
