So it looks like 90 is just the minimum, and when needed will be increased. Its less that Balmung (and other large servers) will be out of room and more how long it will take them to add in more rooms.

Before people get there hopes up on that.. I wonder how fast would it be increased/ I know the apartments is on different coding so I wonder if they could just press a button for a large server and 90 more rooms appear. Or would it have to come months later in a patch

I must say I'm disappointed in the apartment buildings, each room is just slightly bigger than a Private Chamber!... :(

Why not? They only put load on server when in use.

Thanks for posting this, it wasn't in the preview I saw, but it's very interesting and helpful. Perhaps the number of apartments per ward will be tweaked during maintenance events as needed.As Tint pointed out earlierthis could be designed to even ou the ward population. Sounds very plausible, thanks to all for the thoughts, links and common sense.

At minimum it could be something dropped into a hotfix patch. We seem to get them for a bit after a big patch anyway.

Seems as though they've got scalability sorted out...
