So what's up with the violence against chocobos in Tailfeather?

I can see where the love comes from. SE have spent a great many years associating Chocobo's with the innocent side of the franchise (a few exceptions, mind) so for a long time FF lover they may see them as kind of a pixel dog.

My fiance is extremely fond of chocobo's and refuses to kill them under any circumstances. Anything involving chocobo harm makes her cry to the point that she named her personal chocobo Chichiri to honour the ill-fated bird in Type-0. Hell, the quest to put down the Bo that was going rampant made her so upset that I had to do it for her while she looked away in tears. She'll even chastise FC members who kill em too (this is something light-hearted in the FC).

Now, she's fully aware that Chocobo's are not real creatures but her love for them is very real and I do think that is something should not be undermined or insulted.

My view is thus:

You attack me, you're getting struck back no matter who or what you are.

My chocobo was born in chocobo stables, he's never known about wildlife before (he likely wouldn't be able to survive there), and he leads a happy life because he's not treated as a pet but as a friend.
Now, what do you have to say about my chocobo????!!!

(About the topic at hand, I simply don't enjoy killing animals in neither real life or games, and on top of that chocobos are close companions, so I'm definitely not a fan of Tailfeather =w=)

Wow, thanks everyone for weighing in. Yeah i guess it mirrors reality in that we're all raised with the customary eating of pigs, cows, and chickens and not dogs or cats. I feel that Chocobos and Mogs are FF's cats and dogs so I am not as bothered killing everything else. I mean I was really sad in Type-0 when that chocobo died. Oh well.

I can't do high level content because I love all life and all of the good raid food has meat or fish in it.
