The only type of cash shop I want to see, is one that will allow for server transfers, hair/cosmetic changes, new hair styles and the like, that sort of thing, maybe even some "costume gear" but that is as far as I would want to see it go.

Oh I guess that's why League of Legends is not a success at all. To quote some overly used defense for adding a subscription, "10 bucks isnt going to break my bank".
The creators of the game, that's who. That's why they are charging you for a half made game when P2P is turned on.Quote:

God, no.
I have an intense and visceral dislike for any cash shops. I cannot take any game with a cash shop seriously, no matter how successful they are, whether they're WoW or Farmville.
To date, over the 5+ cash shop MMORPGS I've played, I've doled out a total of $5, and that was for necessary transportation in one game. And considering how angry I was at myself for caving in and buying it because I needed a viable way of getting around quickly, it left me with a vile taste in my mouth. A necessary mount, of course, is only one extreme example of what a cash shop can offer.
Charge me a flat subscription fee, be it $15 or $50, but in that subscription is the knowledge that I'm playing on an even level with every player that crosses my path. To me, cash shops subconsciously advertise: "If you have more money, you will get more out of the game", whether the subject is looks, advancements, or overall convenience and fun. Cash shops influence you to pay more in order to enjoy every aspect of the game, vanity wear included.
Sure, adding a cash shop can be a lucritive business decision, but it is a decision that I, as a consumer, hate. Personally? That one time mount purchase aside, with any cash shop I usually just grit my teeth and give them the ol' middle finger.
No, absolutely no.
1) Things are always overpriced and you end up spending more than a monthly subscription to remain competitive;
2) It creates two class of players, the payers and non-payers (content is not available to everyone anymore -- discrimination ensues);
3) I believe it goes against the idea of healthy gaming and good principles.
No thanks.
If I smell the stench of a cash shop approaching, I'm quitting without a second thought. It's the worst idea for any MMO ever - would rather have the monthly fee.
