Watching videos does zip for me. I'd rather ask my FC mates, or my LS mates, or hopefully be paired with someone who's not some kind of "Watch video or get kicked" individual. The only thing that makes me better is actually fighting the fight, no matter how hard it is. Wipes are inevitable. They're part of the game. Some people need to

EDIT: Heya, Terrini! Long time no see. How's Lamia treating you? We're doing just fine over on Bryn. Thanks for introducing me ♪

Only for savage, and only if my static asks me to.

A lot of you guys say that you get nothing from watching videos, but I'm not sure that you're getting the point. It's totally OK if you can't execute a mechanic correctly after watching a vid. Like a lot of you said, a lot of people learn better by doing, but you DID learn what the mechanic was.
Here's an example: take Turn 5 of Coil. It's completely understandable if you saw a twister and it caught you off-guard and you didn't react fast enough, but you DID learn from the video that you should move when a twister happens. Reacting to it appropriately just from watching a video, is just a bonus, really. Since you knew how to handle a twister, your death was more of a learning experience and maybe you'll be more alert next time. If you hadn't watched a video or read a guide, you would have died to twister, gone "WTF WAS THAT?", and learned absolutely nothing from your death. See the difference?

I don't watch videos, or read parsers. Just play the game, a lot.

Everytime I have a new dungeon/trial to do I watch Mizzteq's video. It makes my life that much easier and makes me less anxious.

Not really, no. Using your own example, the fireballs. I had no clue that was a thing nor what to do and this was AFTER watching a video. I figured out what they were from having it explained to me then seeing what they were talking about. And I still don't know what to do for Twisters cause I've never been that far. Divebombs seem to still be a problem for some people. You talk up videos and talk down practical experience like the latter is some impossible myth, discounting just how effective 'muscle memory' can be. Bet you'd also be disbelieving when I say I beat all of Alexander (Normal, not Savage) without seeing a single video on it. And no, it wasn't as a dead body (though my first Titan Hard was... ^,^; ).

For me, I prefer a guide that uses diagrams and descriptions of what happens at each phase, what each ability does, etc.
I feel that it gives the feeling of Ye Olde Tent O' War Strategy, when generals would draw up their plans on paper and use little wooden/iron/hard material figurines to depict troops and move plans along. Not to mention I feel that I can actually figure things out from just raw planning in that form, and still get the ecstasy of seeing a Primal's secret techniques blind for the first time (not to mention there's a certain RP element involved in doing it that way, and I save on having to sit there listening to terrible wubbity wubs and/or the worst voice(s) to ever hit the planet).
Maybe it's because I played football as a kid, and we often memorized our plays through trial and error (while still understanding what we needed to do on a basic level).

Alright, look at this this way.
When content first comes out, somebody has to do it without watching a video. Right?
There you go. You can do anything without watching a video.

Beat it with a party of 7 randoms on release day after 1-2 wipes on each turn, the mechanics are incredibly obvious and anyone with eyes can figure out what to do after experiencing a few times. The difference between going in blind and going in with some knowledge is monumental even in midcore-content like Bismarck Extreme or Ravana Extreme. For Ravana it could be the double prey, or whatever the ability is called where when he charges four people. You'll still likely fail if you're forgetful, but you know why you died, and then remember the way to counter it and the next attempts would be different. Whereas if you hadn't you'd be left confused until you figure out the mechanics, and since they're not as simple as in Alexander that alone will take you more than a few wipes. Not the best example, but I think you get what I'm trying to say.
Of course experience helps the most, but it's silly to deny videos have no effect. They save you time trying to figure out things on your own and make you more aware of what to expect, and then how to avoid it either the 1st time, or 2nd and 3rd if you and your party are competent. One person going in blind can ruin the efforts of the others who have, trying to explain the entirety of RavEX is a waste of time and not something you should expect people to do when you could have spent 10 minutes watching a video for 2-3 minutes reading a guide (both if possible, I find that helps me retain the information better, read it then watch a video).

And people wonder why most farm parties and even learning parties fail...
Seriously if your not going to prepare for the fight, then please make sure its a party of similar mindset in a 'learning' party. This means you don't join 'farm' or 'Clear' parties until you actually know the fight. 'Clear' parties are where you know all the mechanics well to win but just need the actual win, and farm parties are for when you know it all 100% and have multiple wins.
Too many bad players, and in reality just bad people, want it to be handed to them on a plate and have the other 7 people have to carry them. Its sad and pathetic to think that 7 people who you don't know or worse subjecting people you would call a 'friend', to a miserable experience because you want to be surprised by the mechanics.
the whole argument of 'i dont want to do homework in a game' or 'i want to experience it fresh and be surprised' is fine when your with others who think that way. However when that same person is in a party with people who want to get the clear / farm it, all you do is screw them over.
Bottom line is people shouldn't have to suffer so you can have fun.
