I agree with the sentiments of the OP in this case. If you're a new player with no other classes leveled up, you are going to be butchered left, right and center.
SE is trying to force more group play, which in my opinion is a mistake. The balance before this patch of solo to group was perfectly fine because it rewarded parties rather than punishing soloers. Had they simply added chain bonuses and left it at that, the balance would have been perfect in my opinion, but I digress.
The point is that whether or not it's SE's intent to ignore new players at this juncture of the game's development, it's an issue they WILL have to face if they ever expect this game to have a strong playerbase in the future. They may not think it's critical now, but it will be, and soon. No one is going to want to play this game if a year in, it's already top-heavy in both player levels and content. It's barely been 12 months and already they're focusing almost entirely on 'end-game' content to the crippling detriment of new players and characters.
I truly hope they address this, soon. I've seen far too many issues, even trifling ones that are minor in comparison, become huge sticking points for the players just because SE chose to put them off until later.

When do you people realize that you have no clue? You are speaking out of hearsay at best, or based on nothing at worst.
Soloing is damn effective at and before level 13 and I see no hint of this changing anytime soon. Soloing is efficient to this point, and quite likely much beyond too, 'till mid-20's even. It's not like new players are thrown under the "group or die" bus as soon as they log in the first time.
I myself truly hope SE addresses the community 'issue' soon but even they can't cure ignorance. -

It's even more hilarious because you out of all people should have the resources to keep yourself up to date and know how to play the damn game. I should be the one struggling, but nope.
I mean, how much does one have to be stuck in an archaic mindset to not realize that leves that send you across half the world to kill 2 mobs just to earn 100xp and 200gil at the end of the task is not as effective as killing the dozens of easy-to-kill targets crowded in one place that earn you enough EXP to level up with ease up to level ten, not to mention drop a lot of good mats to be used for acquiring currency at the same time? -

BIG NOTE: Mobs 1 to 2 levels above you give more XP then pre-patch where it required a group of 5 to party kill to get the same XP. Plus with chains and links that XP is now much more impressive.
SE also moved the mobs so progression is easier. Lots of zonal mobs in pockets that continue to progress as you move further out... -

Me: It's easier than ever to level up to 20's while supplying yourself, and here's my experience to prove it.
If that isn't relevant to the discussion, nothing is. You spread misconceptions, I try to correct them as best as I can. It's a tough task however, I'll give you that much.
