All of Ninja's mudras are magic damage. Except for shuriken, but who cares about that.

You will not be playing a raid duty without 2 healers...both of which are very much capable of contributing to DPS. So Foe Requiem is already a valuable buff to have.

For any DPS casters (or a Ninja using Raiton, one of its strongest moves), a 10-20% flat damage boost is significant. That's a free B4B or Raging Strikes.

If anyone dies in a raid, it's likely Ballad/Paeon will be necessary. Raise costs tons of MP, death revives you with very little TP.

Anything else is just icing on the cake.

...I would expect people to know this in a thread about BRD, but i guess my expectations are too high.

I'm surprised they decided to buff MCH/BRD already. Based on Yoshi P's comment in the interview a few days ago I thought they'd wait until well after Alexander was released.

I have no issues using GB. 90% of our attacks with it are still instant cast. The math shows this is a buff and even with the 15 second cooldown, I'll take an instant cast again anyday. For those who don't like it, just pop it for your Wildfire rotation and then drop it. The 15 second cast should be done when Wildfire is.

Out of curiosity does anyone know what the reaction has been on the Japanese forums ?

I swapped from bard too. You should join the summoner club! It's got cast times aswell, but at least you get to 1) do higher dps, 2) be better at soloing and 3) be desired in runs where tp/mp support isn't needed. Plus you get to have some unique utility since it's the only dps able to ress healers after the limit break change. If you're into raiding you have just as good a chance to get into groups since most go for 2 melee/1 support/1 caster.

You think people picked bard because they can't handle cast times? LOL. As if casting even remotely resembles a challenge. <_< It's a matter of fun and I think if they added casts to melee they would be annoyed too. My point was that if casting is inevitable for all ranged dps then why not go for something that can, you know, actually dps as their role requires.

just cleared all floors in alex as mch there plenty time to have on gb and cast attacks in between mechanics, i like the 10% increase for gb tho

Please don't switch from Bard to magic casting classes thank you. If you're complaining about having cast times now.....I'd hate to imagine how you would handle being a caster and having to sustain high dps while having to move.

This "buff" isn't enough! If I can't run around like an idiot, I should be one-shotting raid bosses!?! We want to be the gods of Eorzea and revel in the satisfaction of rejecting the other jobs to any run because they are inferior.
Here are some suggestions to fix BRD/MCH:
-Make all of our skills off GCD so we can machine gun fire skills and all skill costs down to 0 TP
-Increase all of our skill potencies to 1200
-Allow gear equip on turrets
-Rook turret should fire physical ranged LB3 every 3 secs as its auto attack
-Bishop turret should fire Caster LB3 every 3 secs as its auto attack
-Foe's Requiem should be an instant win song. The boss should commit suicide when the cast finishes.
-Mage's Ballad should be healer LB3 that resurrects the pt, heals to full health, fills the limit bar, and grants 100% MP/TP
-Hypercharged turrets should debuff the enemy with 100% vulnerability that stacks to a max of 15000%
Unless all of these things are implemented, BRD/MCH will forever be broken.

Uh yes that's exactly why they picked Bard.....what do you think the complaints are about ?

Adding casts to melee would not ever make sense and SE would only pull it in a last ditch effort to say EFF the game we're done.

Bard having a cast stance actually makes sense. It's akin to nocing an arrow the harder you pull the stronger the hit...and don't give me that , they don't sing about it crap, ofc they don't, but this is FF.

If it made so much sense they should have added it in 2.0. Then you go on to use an in-world explanation for why a bard would have to cast (they're not nocing it btw they're shivering back and forth with their hand on the arrow) then say well don't expect realism about singing for it before hand because it's FF. If it's just FF and you don't expect realism don't use that as an excuse as to why the job should have it in only certain circumstances.
