yeah they had some that did get banned over it. if they knew you had leveled up using that exploit they would confront you about it. if you admitted doing it they removed the ranks you had gained. if you denied it they banned your account. the problem was they had to be 100% sure that you had done it or they didn't do anything.

Sounds a bit odd, but it reminded me of the very first time I played FFXI. I was playing a Thief and my friend was some kind of healer/buffer class (dunno which one it was). Whilst i fought stuff he just kept healing and buffing me, when I asked what he was doing he just went "powerleveling". Dunno if he meant me or him though... either way it made the fights boring.

Do you remember people saying that Ul'dah would be a ghost city because noone liked the desert enviroment?

Do you remember when making it to Rank 15 took a few days?

Do you remember mobs running back anf forth restoring their HP constantly?

The scary things is how there's all these things everyone is mentioning that are no longer in a game that is literally just shy of a 1 year anniversary.

Lot of different stuff happened in a year O.o'

Do you remember when the day before retail release and we still didnt know if the game, a MMO being released on PC in 2010, would have hardware mouse?

Do you remember in closed/open beta when people were so sure we were playing a very old version of the game and we would have some completely new way more modern version at release?

Do you remember getting the email saying you would start being charged a monthly fee at the end of Nov. 2010. Do you remember how many people dropped their subscription the week of the email. Then do you remember SE realizing just HOW bad they had messed up and made the game free for the foreseeable future.

Do you remember when PS3 players were so disappointed they would have to wait all the way until the end of March 2011 to start playing?

Do you remember when Crafting support only lasted 5 minutes.

When 100 people were fighting to claim the very small amount of mobs in any area.

When Dodos and Goats used to stare through your soul

When the interface was so slow to sell anything quickly to npc's you had to choose items starting from the bottom of your inventory

When Silver rings sold for 80k a piece and Gemmed rings sold for 200k

When your retainer would dissapear from the wards at least once a day resulting in not selling anything

When you had to choose each ingredient individually when crafting resulting in maybe 2 crafts per 5 minute common support

I could go on :P
