Everyone complaining about no action on RMT, please read

Hmmm 1500 per day. I used to be kinda mad when the RMT person i reported 3-4 hours ago was still able to send me another tell.
I guess they just need to go through lots report everyday then...

If you've been watching these posts over the months you will probably be aware that this is one of the larger ban waves we have seen.

Think about this, in the period of 7 days SE's task force evaluated evidence regarding nearly 11,000 accounts and decided on action. That's about 1500 a day. I'm not sure how many people they have in their task force, but even if there were 100 team members that's 15 accounts per person per day 7 days a week. Given the work needed to properly evaluate the evidence to avoid wrongly banning a legitimate player, as well as justify the account being banned, that's not an inconsiderable workload.

I'm actually pretty sure they don't have a team of 100 people in the task force, the overhead of carrying such a large team would absorb a significant portion of the revenue from FFXIV and take a sizable bite out of the development budget.

So, next time you're complaining about the lack of action, consider the volume of account bans.

Accounts Banned: 10803
New Copy of FFXIV: $19.99
Cost of buying 10 mil gil: $30

10803 accounts banned = $215,951.97
Meaning to break even, 71.98 billion gil would need to have been bought,
that's not to make profit, that's just to break even,
and that doesn't include any website costs, reversed credit card charges,
electric/internet bills to be connected to the game.

So Please explain to me how one makes a profit at this?

The numbers just don't add up.

I think OP misunderstands the nature of the complaints which arise on this forum. People aren't complaining about the task force and their work. We're complaining about the lack of tools provided to players to maintain privacy in game. I for one gladly welcome these ban sweeps but its only one of many more approaches that still have yet to be made to help reign in this problem. And even though the amount seems high, its only had very minimal impact on the server I play on. I'm hoping these large number bans in conjunction with player complaints will finally motivate them to grant us better privacy tools to create a more complete solution.

There is no other MMO on the planet with this much RMT spam. This is by far the biggest issue facing this game moving into 3.0. We will gain virtually no new players because they will never subscribe when logging into this every day. My last Recruit A Friend quit because he had a wall of spam just like this when he came out of his FIRST cutscene, was like..I am not paying for this, and went back to WildStar. No one should be making excuses for SE in regards to this.

Kind of dramatic, bruh. I mean...its some of the worst I've ever seen lately, but not by far the worst.

The majority of complaints I've have seen is not that SE is doing nothing...it's that what they have been doing so far has not been effectively combating the problem. There's no way to completely get rid of them as has been said, buyers/sellers will still prevail. But this is still ridiculous. And if they only have 3 people on that team like others have pointed out, the pieces start to come together.

As per OP's report from SE's site, it is clearly stated that the sellers are permanently banned and the buyers or "participants" are temporarily banned. A casual noting of the numbers involved and a dash of logic would assume this.

Archeage is the only game that comes close to the FF14 spam. Yet Archeage is a free to play game. None of the pay to plays are this bad from my experience.

No, "bruh", it's not dramatic. It is the truth. There is no subscription based MMO out there that is as bad as this one in regards to RMT on the North American servers. You get some spam like this in free to play games, but they are FREE. Personally, "bruh", I love this game. I want to see it continue on the path it is currently on, but this RMT issue needs to be dealt with because I personally know four new players that were excited to play FFXIV until they saw that spam before they even got out of the first cutscene. Going /busy or digging through 47 spam messages for a real /whisper from a friend is unacceptable in a subscription based game. We need to be able to interact and we need new players.
