AA damage is more important than any sub-stat in the game, aside from maybe accuracy if you're not at the cap.

3 points (the total difference between both swords and shields) has never made nor broken anything. Further, the Curtana's listed auto-attack damage is higher despite have 1 point less in Attack, yielding a .32 more average damage. So... again, is iL really so important because that's the only thing the Curtana and Holy Shield really has in deficience.
If those 1-2 points are going to make or break your performance, then you're doing it wrong.
ilevel usually ties to weapon damage. And the weapon damage acts as a multiplier of sorts. You can use full 2.3 BiS gear with a nexus weapon and be doing almost exactly double the damage of being naked using a nexus weapon. 2x the damage while you're 10x the ilevel. Weapon damage has the most effect of any stat even including str/int/dex/mind.
That being said, it is a possibility that a properly itemized nexus weapon would be very close to a poorly itemized 120 weapon depending on your class. The +32 det 46 crit might make up the difference of the extra 1 weapon damage and the couple main stat points (str/dex/int/mind).
See you in 2.42 when they add next relic step and these same 'relic are crap' people start moaning that they have to do stuff to get it because it automagically became relevant. 99.9% of people won't even have a poetic within a month when 2.42 arrives and updates relics. QQ moar.
U think its because the relic weapons, other than the look, has no tangible value that UA different from the results of other weapons, which seems wrong considering all the tomes, materia, fates, and hours in df blown on it. There needs to be some value past ilvl for working on these weapons, or its lacking stats will be all they are worth, and we are going to keep having this conversation.
And you have players like myself who have still yet, after 7 months, to step foot into SCoB. For me, currently, my Novus is my best weapon on any of my jobs.
What the OP needs to realise is that maybe the Relic weapon upgrade just isn't for them, because they have the capability and group to work on the new content. But not everything has to be catered to every single player.
I am not completely sure what you are trying to say here because the language is a bit convoluted, but what I got out of it is that you think the relic has no value and lacking stats? However as I said before for the last month and for the next 15 days anybody with a relic nexus has the best possible weapon available...
This original topic of this thread is about tome/coil weapons and how they compare to nexus weapons
