There's certainly nothing wrong with wanting sexy options. I'm never gonna judge for that. But when people want female characters to have a disproportionate amount of sexy options in comparison to men, or ridiculously impractical armor options, yes, that is discrimination and reinforcement of gender stereotypes.

THAT BEING SAID, Jazo's graphic examples that were just posted do none of that and are certainly reasonable options that can/should be provided. Carry on.

Definition number 1, to discriminate - to choose one option over another just because of gender is sexism. If both armors were modfied to be skimpy then it wouldn't be. So.. i'm not sure what for the last time means, since it isn't.. xD

That's not discrimination...

1. the practice of unfairly treating a person or group of people differently from other people or groups of people
2. the ability to recognize the difference between things that are of good quality and those that are not
3. the ability to understand that one thing is different from another thing

Again, that third definition can be tricky but again, discrimination BY ITSELF is not bad nor does it lead to sexism BY ITSELF, it's how it's done that leads into it being a problem. Simply making the Female DRK different is NOT SEXISM NOR IS IT COMPLETE DISCRIMINATION THAT LEADS TO IT.

That definition implies that someone is making the decision to dress a certain way because it is a gender norm. If women and female characters want their armor to look sexy there is nothing wrong with that. It has nothing to do with men and male characters, and does not need to be qualified or justified in contrast with male armor. If men and people who play male characters want to look sexy, that is also okay. This is not the thread to discuss that, though.

Some people want their characters to be sexy, just like some people like dressing sexy. That is not sexist.

If an individual wants to look sexy, though, that is not sexist. If I want to go to battle in a bikini because I like the way that it looks I am not suggesting that all women should go to battle in bikinis.

Nobody is comparing to men, this thread is not about men and male armor, it is about females and female armor. The comparison is not necessary.

A more apt comparision is comparing the variety of sexy armor for women compared to the amount of unflattering, cute, masculine or cool armor for women.

What? By requesting a different look specialized to a stereotypical request (make me sexy, usually by being less clothed) that the former version does not meet - it is discriminating between the two genders. Tin can is more or less a general armor that could be worn by both sexes (I think it looks cool but I'm using your name). Having the neat looking tin can for only males because females were requested to be recognized different (gasp, discrimination) - therefore you've met the definition.

The fact of the matter is is that there are considerable amounts of choice in what you want to wear for both genders. And from the trend of other AF, it is not likely that they are going to vary too wildly from the DRK's armored design.

Taking a look at the AF picture. I'd say the most likely candidate for change would be the legs/skirt armor, similar to PLD, with the helm a second alternative.
