Once physical levels are gone, will racial stats start to matter?

This is a subject people will never agree on and the community will be divided. I personally would like racial stats with the ability to have equal playing field through (high level) questable RSE. The RSE in FFXI was lacking if I recall. If you were a Galka mage you were gimp.

Haven't read the entire thread but in the beginning Ul'dah missions there are Lalafell twins that serve as bouncers. Size doesn't matter in Eorzea.

how about racial abilities? no stats...just one or two decent abilities locked to each race

I find it funny that people are like... "oh no! Don't implement racial stats!". What they obviously don't know is that they already exist

Yes... even if it's just a bit of superficial, but memorable stuff. Like, Lala's being able to feign their death once per 30 minutes or something. Or Roegadyn being able to throw... Lala's.

Basically, I am completely o.k. with all races being equal after they are geared/configurated in an appropriate manner. What I am not o.k. with is a LV 1 midget having almost the same HP and VIT as a LV 1 giant.
