Are Hunts Ruining Final Fantasy XIV?

Thinking about if, if you replace the first letter of the second word in the thread title with a C, it would be more accurate and cover all aspects of the game.

SE will do something, its too much hate now, u can see all the drama after the monster is dead, so SE will do something for sure

They are a disaster. But I'm ignoring them, so game not ruined. I wish they would revamp the whole system and turn it into endgame leves, because I would love to participate.

I wonder if anyone does dungeons anymore. If they don't, what happens to all the newbies trying to progress?

One major problem I see with hunts as they stand currently is that the rewards you get from doing them are very high per time spent compared to other content. I spent a few hours after maintenance doing some hunts - before I knew it, I was already capped on soldiery for the week (this was the start of a new week after reset). Keep in mind this is in *addition* to all the seals I got, as well as so many myths that I had to keep stopping off at Mor Dhona to spend them. It gets hard for people (myself included) to pull themselves out of a good hunt party to do other content when the rewards are this lucrative by comparison.

I think right now a lot of people are going to be doing hunts because I think a nerf to hunts in some way is inevitable and I expect to see some significant changes to it by the next minor patch update date. People are probably trying to get all the seals they can right now before hunts and hunts rewards are adjusted.

I just spent 15 minutes in Coerthas doing a leviquest for my Skyfire II Atma book. The amount of yelling and shouting in the zone was amazing. As you can imagine, the conversations were not exactly friendly. I dont know whats worse right now, the yelling in channels about hunts or gil spammers. When I came to this game, everybody was really friendly and happy with a periodic unhappy camper. Now due to the hunts... so many are turning on each other and running around angry.

So to answer the OPs question... yes, yes they are.

The yelling is quite hilarious and sad at the same time. Oh noes, you missed one monster! Out of the 500 others you will kill today!

I've even seen people blacklisted that don't even fully understand hunts they just pull a monster and everyone goes ape on them and they just don't understand what happened, so I explain to them the general "rules" of the hunts and then they get extremely sad and upset and wish they had never even seen that monster.

at 1 point people are goin to make lvl 50 mules to troll people at hunts (like meh im gona pull every damn MOB till it finds an end.)
seriously lets find all time and pull because they are hunt mobs and not wait for the rest mobs....

It's a good idea that was poorly executed. It can still be salvaged, but it needs to be done quickly. And there needs to be swift action taken against the increased number of cheaters.

I'm wishy washy about it.

I think it's good for the community because it's nice to see people running all over the place and there is open world content. Late at night is the best time to do this stuff because majority of the server is asleep and it's not a Zerg fest. People are also working together. Or trying to.

It's bad for the community for a couple reasons. People are rude and it brings out the worst in people. There are people obviously cheating using that radar crap. And the server wide linkshells all going to one low b rank at the same time.

I don't know, I think it's at a midpoint for being good and bad for the community.
