Is there anything worth farming in this game?

This is so true. A few times I was selling items for 8-10k, once or twice per day. And then someone would come along, see those prices and put 5 or more items on sale and undercut them to 7k. Which just made the item tank further down to 4k, which is when I would decide it was time to move to something else.

Do people STILL not realize that these housing prices are temporary?

Before we spread out on 20 different tangents lets get back to the question asked. "is there any reason to farm"? The short answer is no and until SE provides us with reasons to craft it will remain no.

Housing seems to be the only reason right now to spend millions. My FC paid about 72 million for a large plot.
However, the OP question was "Is there anything worth farming in this game?" and was wondering what could he farm with his PLD for "gill", and also said he doesn't want to play DoL classes.

In general, there's two things I look for when I'm about to start selling stuff on the market boards.
I try to find the high volume items rather than the high costing ones.
And I try to look for the items that you will always need to hand in for a quest or leve.

For high volume items, that is something that sells more than 20+ transaction daily, you'll usually find people undercutting every now and then.
However, the higher the transaction rate, the less of an affect undercutting would have on said item. Since, in most cases I found that the person who is undercutting is usually not supplying in bulk but rather than just trying to get rid of their items faster.

For quest required items, they don't sell at a high volume. Usually less than 20 transaction a day. However, since they do sell steadily, and usually people list those items as bulk, and buyers don't want to buy bulk, you could earn a higher gil per item this way. Though the rate of gil you're taking in wouldn't be as high as the latter.

Lastly, the consistent way of earning gil is doing dungeons, leves, or treasure hunts if farming mobs to sell items on the market board does not work out for you.
Might also want to check if housing furnishing craft materials are still selling on your server, such as Fine Wax, Blue Fox Hide, etc.
These are obtained from dungeons or treasure hunts.

Other than that, I'm haven't really looked into farming too much as gil is not a concern of mine.
