Mantra and Bard

So, you don't use Mantra on Fireballs in T5? Or at the beginning on the offtank to make it easier? I use Mantra on every turn except 2 every week. T1, we 1 tank it and let Caduceus re-combine so when it starts getting rough on healers i'll hit it on the tank to help out, T4 I use it any time i'm on a Knight (that AoE cleave), and T5 I use it on beginning on offtank and when my side gets a fireball to help out. It is a VERY useful ability.

You're a monk with 20% mantra. This discussion is about Bard with 5% mantra.

If you don't use it as a Monk, you seriously have a problem with your playstyle. Just saying.

But using it as a Cross Class skill, it's arguably useless.

Thank you. Was about to correct Alcyon myself. Also note my aiming pants. But yes I was wrong in the fact that Feint is "Slow" not "Heavy" Unfortunate really... :[

You stand at melee range on Caduceus? That 5% healing must be epic! I would think the tank would be pissed at all the slime pools you would be forming around him. O.o

My static clears T4 every week with no problems. Our comp for T4 is PLD, WAR, WHM, SCH, 2 BLMs, BRD and a DRG. Neither our BRD or our DRG have Mantra, and we do just fine. Take that as you will.

If you read up...he's a MNK...

I'd be shocked if he could clear coil with a ranged MNK...

Is Mantra "worthless"? --- NOPE
Is Mantra more useful than other cross class choices you have as Bard? --- Depends on the fight and your party composition.
Should I level up Monk to get Mantra as a Bard? --- If you feel like it.

SUMMARY
Is Mantra essential to have as a Bard for any fight? --- NOPE
Is Mantra "worthless" (as a bard)? --- ALMOST
Is Mantra more useful than other cross class choices you have as Bard? --- NOPE, the 5th skill is almost worthless in general.
Should I level up Monk to get Mantra as a Bard? --- You should and learn the mechanisms of every class, but not for mantra.
