This is mostly due to wolfies points, something he could put much better than me, and has, in many threads.

To a degree, to any reasonable minded player - whos actually followed all of the rep and dev replys - the amount of issues they have with the game engines build is something that would within reason be resolved alot quicker with a down time.

Its not unreasonable at all.

Explain how you draw this conclusion?
They already have their own servers to work on before they publish changes. Not to mention the enormous amount of feedback / bug reports they're getting now helps shape the game into (hopefully) something everyone can enjoy. Sure, taking the game down would mean no more forum stupidity, but it'd also mean zero game feedback and bug reports -- a valuable resource they're getting for free.

I honestly don't see how taking down the servers solves anything period. What do you gain by throwing your potential subscriber base to the curb and telling them "Hey guys just wait a year or two we promise it'll be better than any game that will poentially come out within that time, just wait for us".

Incremental updates keep people playing and keep them wanting more. Shutting the servers off is a horrible idea and an irresponsible gamble at best.

Which DO hold this game back.

I fail to understand how you can to mix the two together.

I'd rather them just take the forums offline, it will have the same effect as taking the game offline. You take the game away, the forums will be pointless.

You know, they stated pretty much~
The battle system we are going to get in 1.18 is the same battle system they will build on for years to come. You're thinking what is comming has been beta tested or something?

If the game were up, or down. you would be getting the same system. And they will improve upon it in their own vision regardless of useless feedback.

You really just side-stepped the question there. Explain how taking the live servers offline, with SE already having private test servers to work with, would hasten the development process.
