Need to darken all around so start by feeding 15 apples, 15 beries and 15 pears, that will get us into the oranges first, not worth upping more fruits from the start.

I hate to jump in at this late in the game, but I must ask ...

Some of you kept on telling others EXACTLY how many fruits you should feed to get to the next color ...

My question is: just HOW you came up with these EXACT fruits to feed? Please show proof WHY the recommended numbers will do exactly that kind of color adjustment to the base color.

There is a color calculator, that while not perfect, will get you at least in the ballpark of the color you want.

You overfed it driving values around. Try the following:

apple 3
pear 2
pineapple 1

The calculator clearly states it isn't anything conclusive.

is pointless since Apple and Plum washes each other out. So why feed 7 apples and then wash 2 out with plums? What purpose does those recommendations of feeding 20A + 20B + 20C do?

Seriously, where is the 100% solid data backing all these EXACT feeds? We cannot come up with 100% SOLID feeds for simple single fruit feeds, and we can make blank EXACT recommendations?

This unfortunately took me back to grape purple...not sure why. I can get back to midnight blue, and can probably get to kobold brown (I have before) by adding one feather proc of pears; would it be easier to get to ink blue from kobold brown or midnight blue?

Reached limit for a while again, will try to reply later, hope you see this in time.

Review your math, the fruits don't cancel all values out, they cancel two in most cases, so when combined, all three values go either up or down.

Can confirm the color calculator works. Just got my Void Blue! So Happy! Ty for all the help Folken!

Worked for hundreds so far, and adding 20+20+20 deepens all overall, they don't cancel out.

Also, variables apply as colors are in a range, so your soot black may be a value and mine another, so the fruit that changes within a variable we have rounded to +/- 5, will land you differently at times.
We are doing the best with what we got, and it has worked seriously hundreds of times over the almost 300 pages, feel free to check. We know this variables result in some rng and loops as well.

Also, apples and plums don't wash each other out, they affect green by canceling the red and blue values thus only affecting green.

We always said it's recommendations.

I was following this guide, trying for the black one. However, I was not able to get from Rolanberry Red to Grape Purple or Midnight Blue, instead I got to Abyssal Blue almost everytime (a few Dalamud Reds). Then feeding 1 Mamook Pear from Abyssal Blue, I managed to pop a Shadow Blue, and i'll be stickin with it for now.

Follow up to my previous post, adding blue (Berries) to Mole Brown for one step got my chocobo to Charcoal Grey. Almost at soot black, so im adding some more berries to see what happens.

2 pears from grape purple gave me shadow blue.

Its not on the color chart, so I don't know what to do to get closer to soot black anymore.

This calculator IS NOT complete, nor is any data complete and/or finished. It is stated VERY CLEARLY in the notes. Please step misleading people and tell people exactly what fruit to use to obtain the another color when NO ONE has posted a solid result that can be reproduced 100% of the time.

You tell me, just exactly how you can even suggest the fruits ALWAYS behaves the same when you have the follow values??

Just want to confirm that 1 apple and 1 berry with two feather messages got me from Marsh green to root black.

so has anyone noticed that the cutscene chocobos look different than the actual color, my chocobo looked blue in the cutscene when it changed, but turned slate grey which does not look blue at all

also how would you get from slate grey to ceruleam blue

Fed my Blood Red Choco 4 plum procs and 1 green proc in hopes of getting to the Brown before Black or at LEAST to avoid regal purple ... will see wut I get in an hour.

That just put me back at deepwood green. I'm never going to get soot black at this rate. Thanks for trying to help though.

EDIT: Nevermind, I managed to get soot black from deepwood green with one valfruit and one pineapple!

OMG!!!!!!!! the loop is over i got my soot black the valfruit x2 and pineapple x1 at deepwood green worked for me. So if you stuck this may help you get out of this loop. I try valfruit x2 and pineapple x2 even try valfruit x1 pineapple x1 but what really got me out of this loop is valfruit x2 and pineapple x1. They all got feather proc.

Please help. Made it to void blue would like to get to soot black. Should I get to ink blue first since it is confirmed that two pineapples and two Valfruit should get me there or go straight to soot black. Either way, I need help getting to either. Thanks for all the awesome in this thread.

Becoming harder to GET things to proc. Took well into the teens to get the first of 4 blue procs in a row followed by 3 greens in a row. Will see wut's wut either at 4 or when I wake up.

Trying to get from Ink Blue to Soot Black. Anyone know what i should use to get there?

Since I got what I wanted, I thought I'd help a friend out. He's currently at Lilac purple and hoping to either land on Cactar or Hunter green. Anyone know how to get to either?

So I got back to midnight blue from grape purple, and now I'm going to try 2 pineapples again to get to Ink Blue like suggested. I got a feather proc message on both pineapples, so I'll let you guys know in 6 hours what happens! (Though I'm assuming it will go back to grape purple, as that is the loop I'm stuck in!)

Was working on Soot Black but am stuck. Somehow I keep achieving Regal Purple xD... Was doing it color by color (feed pure of one fruit to get the next).. Made it to Rolanberry Red but feeding nothing but berries should have brought out Midnight Blue from my understanding but changed to Regal Purple instead. Anyone have an idea what I need to do to fix or how I can get Soot Black? xD

Came out friggin Regal Purple. Pineapples to get it back to red ..

Finally this stubborn bird became Soot Black. But he is a troll, all the tiem I try to make a photo he closes his eyes.

Finally got out of the loop and got Soot Black. I got black from Marsh Green feeding 2 berries and 1 apple. Thank you everyone ^.^

I have a litte problem with the color of my Chocobo,

I´ve tried to get Snow White, so my first step was to feed Doma Plums (5x), and got Slyph Green,
the next step was Doma Plums again (8x), now i have "azure blue" think it is Ice Blue in the English version.

So my question is, what i have do to, to get snow white?

I was able to help hundreds thank to this. Taken many days and hours out of my free time to do it. This upsets you somehow. We know it's not an exact science, it's what we got. Best I can do, and it's nice of you to come high and mighty after 370 posts you didn't read. Be happy, help everyone yourself. I'm done now that the last people I was helping got their soot black.
