Because, the cruel truth is what it is, EU players made a CONSCIOUS CHOICE to remain on NA DC for /whatever reason/. I'm not going to judge them for their reasoning to stay, but you cannot blame a company after they made a whole Data Centre + Free Transfers at the time of creation.

If you really wanted to get good ping you could play on the EU servers, People on the East coast have to choose between bad ping on NA or bad ping on EU. I'm in central so this isn't too big of a deal for me.

Awesome thanks, would probably be getting 30-40ms with a central location but I can live with 88ms for now.

That's not very central, at least from geographic point of view. Even if accounting the map stretch giving slightly wrong image.

I live in Oklahoma . No real difference its 1800+ mile to Montreal where the old server was and its just about 1800 miles to Sacramento .......

It's more central than montreal or sacramento wrt all of NA, not just US, but you're not wrong.

Again, EU people DID NOT get free transfers off of NA. NA people did get them off of EU. We stayed here due to being here for years already, having a community and friends, houses and everything. And the latency was still manageable. Now? It's not. Expecting people to just leave everything behind and try to start afresh is silly when there was no reason to do so until now when we are literally forced to move.

In Western PA and I can definitely feel the ping spike. I think I can just barely double weave properly on BRD but it's a tight fit. On BLM slidecasting feels kind of wonky and I'm going to have to relearn where the sweet spot is. People saying you can be competitive in high-end content with high ping are delusional, sorry. Your connection absolutely makes a difference.

I was hoping to drop WTFast with the server move (kept being routed through level3 to montreal which was destroying my latency) but now I have to keep WTFast AND my ping is worse...worst of both worlds :( I guess hoping for Chicago was too much.

It's central as far as Internet infrastructure goes. Kansas City, MO, is more of a "true" centerpoint, but it's rarer to see major hosting done there. Chicago and Dallas are the usual places you're going to see "Central" servers located.
