Maybe one day i will. I would of course ask FC friends if they want to do a class run and if needed put up a party finder. It's that simple to que as a class without being a burden :)
No regard to other player's time. I see.
Try to find a new one, or a static. There are a lot of players who want to run class runs.
How do you know if they notice you? You can't mind read, can you? If i run into multiple class-runners in duties on a late night i sigh, start up youtube on my phone, maybe try to vote kick them or report them after and if i'm the tank i might single pull or be too afraid to w2w at least. So i wouldn't write anything in chat. There are to many class-runners. It is 99,9% deliberate. So what good does it do to call them out? Most pretend to not know what a job stone is. That's it.
I know we spam this thread with our discussion, but there is still this 1 angle you didn't answer to yet. Do you know the others are actual players? Real humans with lifes? Most of your defense for saying it's ok to class-run boil down to YOUR enjoyment of the content while my critiques always came from the negative impact your behaviour has on OTHER players. The recommodations and the claim that most don't notice address this but even if a bunch of players are ok with it, if you que you assume everyone is. You expect them to be.
Easy to say.
As long as I perform above average - nobody cares.
Few days ago I asked people not to attack "Target To Ignore" mark multiple times, with <seN>, guess what? Some of people kept attacking it. Why? Coz mostly nobody cares about anything in Normal Duties.
Ok, we have a raid A, where both healers are KO, tank is about to collapse too, but I am only the only one from Raid B and C who keep healing Tank A, while some other healers keep spamming damage spell, coz their allaince is full HP (no even bothering ress other healers). Who has more negative impact here?
Ok, I am a second tank, I see that Mt is about to collapse, coz of thing happened above (both healers ko), and I am using Provoke to save the tank, instead of just sleeping. Do I have a negative impact?
I am tank who have healing potions in case of emergency.
I am a healer, who know how to use Rescue and Esuna
I am a tank who knows where to go in case of 3 adds spawn
I always use best foodbuff.
If u will think about "negative impacts" in normal duties 24/7, u will go mad, coz mostly nobody is perfect there.
Missing press-to-win spell does not make me bad, coz I am using alternative ways to keep up.
All it takes is a more annoying dungeon or where there is a bigger pull and even if a wipe will not be your fault you will be blamed for that. reported and vote kicked. And if you get banned due to amount of reports nobody will care if it was your fault, just middle finger and goodbye.
This is a multiplayer competitive game. Players will be angry seeing others intentionally underperforming. Nobody cares if a sprout has problems healing but if anyone sees things that can be classified as clearly inferior or incorrect behaviour they will get furious. It's fine to do your own group with your own rules but for roulettes where people can't choose it becomes a problem. And the more problematic roulette runs people get the less it will be used. People will move to party finder where only "proper" players will be accepted. Screw snowflakes and sadly also sprouts. Then slight line from getting things like RIO score from WoW.
The thing is, coz GMs receive a lot of false reports, they dont ban anyone, for having a big amount for reports.
Normal Duty finder is competitive? Where u can be banned if devs find out that u are using dps/hps parser and show it in /party channel, to point out bad performance of other players? Ok sure.
You are playing a roulette with this. You get reports and at some amount someone will look at it. Even if it will be passed at first you never know what will happen next.
As in you are put with 3-7 other players and have to complete a duty and if you can't then there can be a witch hunt and no job stone is the first "obvious" reason why you can't do for example last boss in Ktisis Hyperboreia ;) GM can't replay your dungeon run, can't see if people did the mechanic but if you got 3 reports for job stone over and over then the GM can do 2+2 = 5 and do a ban... and if you actually fail something it will be double-used as a proof this is wrong/ban/cancel/revoke...
This game pushes for "positive experience" up to quite fake "positive" experience while allowing for quite a lot of simple errors that are highly triggering to people. No job stones, spamming cure I in EW content and so on for other jobs.
Another happy story:
Joined a game-in-progress of Shisui as a SCH. Pulled off a Rescue on the tank who didn't know about the seduce mechanic on the second boss (where you have to turn yourself into an old woman), yanked them out of the aoe just in time.
Dead Ends. Reaper uses single target on w2ws, surprised Death's Door showed up at all. Tank almost dies twice. Sage dies on second boss, then Reaper. Entire time I'm carrying the damage until I do a dumb on the final boss and earlier had the audacity to do laundry in preparation for PAX when tweedle dee asks if I'm coming despite saying and I quote "brb laundry". Sage then gets massive balls to ask if I needed to change my underwear after carrying the damage of Peacekeeper when they were the first to die. I do said dumb on final boss and get doomed. Sage lets me die to Doom debuff despite a single heal would be able to save me when everyone else was at near perfect health. Ask for res. No response, just Dosis and heal spam until boss dies when everyone is over 50% in the time it would take to cast five resses. Zero comms.
Gets up early because brain decides it doesn't want to sleep in on my day off.
Gets into 14, decides to work on another alt's tank, drk again.
Gets into leveling roulette, it's Dusk Vigil.
Gets a 90 sage with 610 gear mix and Manderville relic. Cool.
Gets hit with reality that, despite cooldown usage and whatever I can wall, sage doesn't manage mp well.
Gets told to use oven mit.
Baking mit?
No, more mits i.e. stacking mits.
I ask if I'm a bad tank, gets told no, they're going through their mp like no tomorrow sustaining me.
Gets dungeon clear, sage immediately leaves.
Goes through in-game battle log.
Counts 1 use of Lucid Dreaming.
*slow head turn*
Had an odd encounter. Mostly odd because looking back I learned that all 3 other players were in the same FC.
Lapis Manalis.
Had a tank that used no other mitigations besides Rampart and Heart of Corundum. Cool.
Tank and one of the DPS were Vuln maker collectors. First boss the DPS ends up with 5 while the tank has 3. The DPS refuses to stop attacking the first boss and hide behind the ice. I thought about yoinking them with Rescue, but I felt like I'd be asking for drama so I shielded them through it.
The other DPS actually commented on it. Make me anxious because while I appreciated the acknowledgement I also wasn't looking for a fight, but no one said anything. Keep in mind that I didn't know DPS #2 was in the same FC as the Tank and DPS #1.
Rinse repeat on the pulls with the lack of mitis.
DPS and Tank collect vuln markers again on second boss, along with a few dooms that I have to Esuna. I don't think I've ever seen someone manage to get doom 3 times that quickly, like they were trying to get it as soon as I Esuna'd it.
And then on Cagnazzo DPS #1 and the Tank died to the bubbles. I dodged on the opposite side of the room so I couldn't do anything.
Only reason I didn't just leave is because I was tired and wanted to get my expert roulette done...
Side note. I randomly got Aglaia in Alliance Raids roulette and I've discovered that you cannot kill Nald'Thal before he weighs you. He lives on 1 hp(I think), and he runs through the rest of his routine before dying immediately after his scale's cutscene.
It probably could have been handled better, yeah. If I knew I would have to afk in about 5-10 minutes into a dungeon even for something as simple as that, I wouldn't bother queueing up at all until afterwards. It's one thing to have an emergency of sorts come up. It's another to cause unnecessary frustration when it could have been avoided altogether by waiting a few extra minutes.
I'm sure the laundry also would have been fine waiting until after the run...only emergencies and unexpected people at the door(if they ordered food and they were waiting, that is something where they should have just not queued in the first place) really need to be addressed right away. Otherwise, it can wait until after the run.
Very interesting one today.
Queued up for Guildhests (yeah I know, not even worth the 2 minutes it takes, c'est la vie) as one of my lower level classes (Paladin) for the daily bonus
Ended up in the one where you have to kill a plant enemy that spawns poison pools everywhere and (ideally/before everyone just ungabunga DPSed down everything) tank has to pull mobs away from the pools so that your party doesn't get DOTed to death
Healer was a CNJ, and the first thing they do is... Charge up to stand right next to the first spawn (in a poison pool, mind) and as best I can tell not cast Stone once? Like maybe they were spamming Aero for whatever reason? First spawn dies, they cure themselves, but not me (at like 70% HP at this point). Okay, whatever I guess.
Second spawn, same thing, CNJ runs up to melee range and is whacking at random mobs (not even the main one). I've noticed by now that they're not all with it and am actually doing the mech, I.e. dragging stuff away from the pools rather than just tanking through it and focusing down the target enemy. CNJ doesn't heal me once, and I get down to like 5% HP before, mercifully, the duty completes.
As we're turning in, i type something like "well, that was seconds from disaster..." Didn't wanna call out the CNJ cuz, ya know new player probably, considered harassment for daring to suggest someone do their role, etc. No one else says anything. Leave the instance. Out of morbid curiosity, pull up the Contacts page (50 most recent party members), check their adventurer plate since that's all I can do from there.
Level 45 Conjurer. Not WHM, Conjurer.
I'm afraid to manually look them up on Lodestone, because I dunno if they're one of those "lol I'm not using my stone because RP XD" people, or if they got carried into the 40s (or higher) while apparently not doing their job by even the barest definition.
EDIT: Even more morbid curiosity, I DID look them up... Level 41 (obviously not up to date) CNJ on Lodestone. NO other jobs levelled. Current gear is all dungeon gear (mostly Acolyte's), though to be the barest semblance of fair, MAYBE that's out of date, too.
I just... positive community and all, but frickin' why
Or they're both things equally cringe/worthy of TfDF. I'm sure your laundry could have tanked the extra 5 minutes or whatever it ended up being and you still would have progged on Laundry 8 Savage.
For that matter, now that you're so vehemently defending the matter: why, exactly, did you NEED to stop EVERYTHING and do laundry, then and there? Like, maybe it's because I've a rather boring set of clothing, but I didn't realize laundry-doing was time-sensitive (other than, like, not leaving stuff in the washer for more than a few minutes because of the risk of mildew).
Flawless HoH clear (#3)https://i.ibb.co/9YDLvn5/lolhoh.png
- DNC, claimed to be drunk, waited in Mor Dhona for several minutes thinking PF said Orthos, misused several pomanders and used all the Intuitions before 70, dc'd almost instantly after readying for the 90 pull and missed half the fight, used Head Graze maybe twice
- WHM, exhausted, wanted to Odin 90 but thankfully saved for 99
- WAR, didn't really talk except whenever a surprise mob/patrol interfered with a pull thinking someone else grabbed it, absolutely would not use a single Steel pomander past floor 80
- DRG, explained some mob mechs and had waymarkers for 90, frequently ran from the group and attracted enemy attention
Speaking of Alliance raids, I was part of a particularly hilarious trainwreck in Euphrosyne yesterday afternoon where pretty much everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong.
- Tank tanking Nymeia died to a mechanic, she aggro'd to me (a Bard) way on the other side of the arena, she started moving over to KO me with a kick to the face, and got close enough to Althyk for them both to get the damage up buff before casting her raid-wide, wrecking the rest of my party members in Alliance B and killing half of Alliance A and C. Thankfully Althyk was just about dead at that point, so we were still able to recover. Strangely enough, Nymeia was at 10% and nobody in the other two alliances even thought about raising anyone in Alliance B that entire time.
One of my party members then said, "Alliance B is for Bonding on the floor."
- All of the tanks during the following minion fight somehow started off only tanking one of the main minions instead of grabbing all three. This resulted in the other two deleting some poor DPS when the tankbusters came out.
- Menphina was casting her cleaving tankbuster at the three tanks. I moved back to get a clear vantage point to see where the three tanks were. The tank closest to where the rest of the alliance was gathering decided to move back at the same time, and adjusted towards me at the very last second. I nervously ran the hell away, but could only watch on in horror as half of the alliance gathered at Menphina's feet got cleaved in half.
All in all, alliance raid trainwrecks are always hilarious.
Sometimes you just gotta eat the penalty.
Got myself a Cure 1/Medica 2/Cure 2 fisher spammer in Holminster Switch just now that didn't want to answer my question as to why they were spamming Cure 1.
While I came in as pld tank on an alt, I had to almost mute my volume because of the constant Cure noise.
My inner whm is weeping in agony, send help.
Ever since Syrcus received the update where they added stack markers on the last boss, now people assume that in later content they can do the same, eventually killing everybody, thats a major flaw.
Im not saying before people didn’t, but now it feels like the norm.
I had this one not long ago in o9n (Chaos). I scoot out of the 2nd stack up AoE just in time to avoid certain death. Six other weren't so lucky. I had to scrape their dead body off the floor after while also taking those 8s cast times to type "Don't stack both of those together."
Good thing being an AST that time means the MP recovery was beyond broken, so there was very little issue in doing just that. Still hilarious to watch though.
Been a while since I posted here, but something happened on my Primal alt that was so stupid that I had to post it here.
So, my alt on Primal has all of three classes. A boosted DRK (both story and class), a SGE that I grabbed from said boost and a BLM that I started the character with (before the boost) that I have leveled naturally (lvl 60+).
I am not that confident using DRK to get through Endwalker (especially considering the trials) so I decided to level SGE and take that through story instead. Now, I'm down to playing the game once a week and a lot of time, this alt doesn't get any playtime (3rd Alt, so my main and 2nd alt take priority) so she has a returner flower that pretty much never goes away.
Fast forward about a week ago where I'm doing leveling on SGE and we get Holminster Switch. No biggie. I'm confident enough that I'm sure we'll be fine. This lasts up until the BLM rips aggro from the tank. Again no biggie. I wasn't expecting it but things happen.
Except they keep happening.
The BLM types 'TANKSTANCE' after the first pull after the first boss. I think 'Oh shit, really?' and check. Sure enough, our tiny tank indeed STILL has no tankstance on, despite having tanked the first boss somewhat successfully. I second this in chat, to no avail. At this point the other DPS is pulling aggro off too and the BLM has gone down at least twice due to me not being quite as good on SGE as I am on the other healers. Second boss passes with no tankstance, but since I know what's going to happen, I'm able to keep people up better but still not totally successfully.
At this point, the other DPS uses auto-translate and its not until I inspect the tank that I understand why. He has German and English (but not JP) listed as his language settings. He also has current tier savage raid gear. It becomes obvious that my dude's sole purpose is to lay long-ways, the huge steaming TURD of his gameplay so that we all can get our feet dirty.
He continues to chain pull and not roll on loot (we're not opening chests at this point--he is) so he can't be kicked and leaves immediately after the final boss is dead so no one can report him. I apologize profusely to the DPS who are very cool about it and also perturbed by our tank's performance.
But seriously, WTF dude? What were you even trying to prove?
Everyone else's hp is mitigation, don'cha know? /s
In all seriousness, most likely they had chat turned off, and probably wouldn't have noticed unless someone was spamming notifications/sound effects in chat. I probably would've told the party to hold back on following said tank until they turned it on. And since they weren't rolling on loot, you can always wait out the loot timer if you hold back so you can kick.
I hate to be the one that says it, but if you have the menu to kick up before a boss dies, and you're fast enough, you can votekick him before new loot gets added to the table.
why do you boost a job you're not even confident enough to do msq with? i dont understand
Been playing a lot of CC(Casual because dead DC), and uh... wow. People sure are something. There's nothing like watching 4 people chase one person to the complete other side of the map while you're sitting there fending off the 4 other people from the opposing team who are walking the crystal down to the checkpoint.
Don't even get me started on the people that run in, suicide then try to stealth afk by running around in circles outside the spawning circle.
I'm using WHM and I'm somehow managing to win because the absolute amount of stalling I can do on the crystal is actually kind of insane, but make no mistake, it's taking years off my life. We're gonna die young.
i do have one from my viera blm
delubrum reginae PF with 2 dps without any essence
we cleared every boss just fine until the queen
people were confused about the bombs mechanic thus wiping them leaving me to tank her until i got doom debuff
group disbanded after that and i never wiped to DRN last boss before haha
joined another as dnc(1 fiend hunter and lost dervish swapped to cure2/stoneskin after running out)
it went smoother
we had rank 25 people with pures in said group and before joining i always farm/or buy the relevant fragment for my job
the difference was i am either rank 15 or 16/17 before unlocking the duty
We thought that too but he should have noticed he wasn't holding aggro. Because he wasn't. Also he was chain pulling so we were almost never out of combat, then he would grab the chests and not roll. I thought about letting him face plant, but in the end we all just wanted to be done with him so we just limped along just to get done. He wasn't worth the extra time.
I'll keep that in mind for next time. Thanks for the info.
I think not rolling when they are doing something wrong is how people get around a vote kick. They know they are immune as long as loot has yet to be won.
See it all the time on alliances but only on the CT/LotA.
