I already have the relics I'm interested in getting and I go back and enjoy the content as I see fit, I don't need you or anyone else to tell me my complaints aren't valid when endwalker has obvious flaws of content longevity because I haven't done literally everything.

According to them, you need to get every single thing in the game, that also includes the fish 10000 fishes achievement and the likes, and every single mount or pet, only then you have the right to have an opinion

That appears to be the trade-off they're gambling on. There seems to be a lot of churn in the LB player statistics (although the new player rate is now dropping) and the current model they seem to be working towards is sating players who are newer and therefore have a backlog of stuff to work through before they begin running out of content on the one hand, and people who are content to just log in for every major (and maybe minor .x5) patch.

The issue, as has been mentioned, is that when you eventually get to the point where there's fewer more experienced players logged on, the social experience decays... So once the new player churn eventually dies down, you're stuck with not an awful lot to do at max level content and not much to hook people into sticking around to make that viable. That explains the focus on making the game more single-player viable, but I don't think it can compete with dedicated single player (or even some coop) games so I'm not really convinced this will pay off.

What if they have done all the current content in endwalkers on release and there isn't anything else to maintain there interest. Most veteran players have also done the "backlog of content" on release as well and got everything out of it they wanted.

On the problem of people rushing the content on day one and complaining after that there is nothing to do, I think it's a false problem. Those people were there in ShB, yet most of those agree that without being perfect, ShB did a far better job at giving the said content longevity. Once again, a lot of the complaints are about this patch cycle doing a far worst job at making long term content than the previous extensions. The same devs literally did a better job at that in the past, and that's why people complain. You can't do like people rushing content didn't exist 2 years ago. Something that is often (always?) implied when that argument comes out.

Are we really at the point of arguing “if you don’t have every physeos relic, every set of +2 elemental armour, Cassie, the speed belt, the OH the 7 magecite, copycat, conditional, great/regular zentuksuken, Sam barding, shiver, ellvann, petral and eld you can’t complain about the current state of the content

The level of cope is off the charts, what will the arguments be in June next year when we will have been going almost 18 months like this

Comparing an MMO crafting grind to “bash[ing] your head against a brick wall,” is a totally normal thing to do!

Maybe like what I've experienced: being accused 'mentally ill' for having all of that, just like how I was accused being one for clearing 255+ DRNs on patch to clear all ShB relics at that stage.

It gets to the point where they're basically asking you to do content in the game, which you may already have done in some form, just for the sake of doing content. Very weird logic. Imagine asking someone to go level and gear up other jobs just to keep them busy, even though they don't enjoy playing them. It's makeshift work and not really a reasonable approach for an MMO to take. Especially for a genre where people often have a specific thing they want to play and specialise in.

Ah, the classic "How can you say you truly enjoyed the beach when you didn't eat every single grain of sand on it?"

Invoking completionism as some kind of fun purity test is totally ridiculous. The vast majority of players aren't completionists, and don't magically turn into completionists just because they enjoy something. I have a few hundred hours in Bozja and completed maybe 2-3 relics, and ended two notes short of the bike because I didn't feel like going back to the first zone and waiting for a specific fate to spawn.
