I never said any of those things. Thanks for the commendations but again you are wrong. There are thousndads that grind harder than me for gil. And to your answer your question how I managed : I like doing it. And I am not employed by Square Enix, which would probably be a pre-requisite of doing the aforementioned job you proposed I do for them. And I like housing because of the community it builds, the role-playing, and the depth in which you can design, not because of any exclusivity like you assumed and slandered like everything else.

I don't need a dummy account, I have nothing to hide. Plus again, if you look at my listing when I was thinking about selling the Mist plot when people were offering, I was looking to buy a large as well. But now I won't ever sell my Mist plot, not even for a large. I will wait til I can upgrade my small personal and always keep the Mist.

I was referring to the release of new wards, which happen with major patches, and involve a race to login at 4am on a Tuesday.

Ahhh gotcha, I kind of thought that afterwards, it just wasn't clear. Sorry. I agree with the "lottery of Shirogane". What I disagree with, and others have said this, not you, is some people thought they were at disadvantage, when everyone had issues with logins and all were suceptable ( spelling?) to same errors/process.

Have they ever toyed with the idea of having neutral plots instead of Small, Medium and large?
That way the size of the house is decided when you are constructing.
So say you buy a plot for a fixed price the devs decide. Then you build a small one, or if you have the gill a large.
But in case you were only able to build a small, it's no big deal, because you could make more gil and then pay the price to upgrade the house to a medium or large. Kinda like animal crossing.
That would solve the problem of FC's having to settle with small houses since people snatch the large ones in minutes after patch. Also would give people something to work for if they have a small, increasing the gil sink.

Wouldn't solve the bigger problem of housing and avaliability, but hey.

II really like this. Thought of this a few times. I think its one of the best ideas out there. Buy a plot in which you can upgrade or downgrade via the price difference between sizes.

You are being purposely obtuse. Im pointing out that simply having the will to do something doesn't make it possible. Don't have any money? Just have more money if you really want it. Want a car that doesn't exist any more? Well if you REALLY wanted it you would just go get it. Want to clear all the content in the game solo? You'd just solo it right now if you REALLY wanted it. etc etc. When it comes to dealing with something finite, the will to do it is step one of countless steps if its possible at all.

Your 'self help book' solution to housing isn't practical.

I mean its just that simple, right? Since participating in house flipping is specifically prohibited I have no intention of breaking the rules just because i could get away with it.

They are worth whatever people will pay for them. That's the way its been, that's the way it'll go unless they change things. Nobody is getting fooled into buying, most people are completely willing to pay for nice plots, more so than the people that aren't willing. Most people have the mentality that it's no big deal, because they make hundreds of million between months anyway, so the value of gil to some is way different. When you have smalls averaging 3-20, mediums 25-250 and larges 100-600 million, and they sell everyday, whether you want to say they aren't worth that or not, they are, cause that is what the market is showing. If you want to argue flaws in the housing I would accept the pricing as one, as it is way too cheap for most people playing. For how competitive housing has become, I think the economy is showing us what they truly are worth, as opposed to what SE first set as a base cost. If someone obtains a plot, it is completely up to them and within their rights to relinquish it however they see fit, if they wanna relinquish it to someone privately, I think that is completely fine, no matter what the details of the transaction are, gil, items, completing runs etc.. I don't see why people should be mandated to release them to the public and let someone randomly stumble upon it. Value just went up some more. How? Cause i determine what it is worth to me. Others feel the same. Get the gil, buy it, be happy.

im not argueing nothing im stating facts... Selling a house for crazy amounts will get you banned and SE has stated this..So keep thinking your justified in selling it for 500 mil just cause some one will pay or you think its worth that ..its not that is called house flipping you are making more then the house is valued on the sign board..

When you do see a player that is obviously utilizing their housing to sell it off for a really high amount, and you do see in party finder, please let us know. Report it to us and then GM's will go in and investigate. And if we do find evidence that it is true that a certain player is going out there selling off their land for an unusually large amount of money, we will try to go in there and make them refund that gil and return the land.

We may have mentioned it before, but we do not allow people to do something as malicious as selling some of these plots. Again, once we have it reported, we will investigate and find the evidence. And once we find sufficient evidence, we will try to address it and rectify the situation."
