The guy who made FF12 supports the idea of male Viera, and male Viera, while not seen, do exist. They are more territorial over land and food sources, so they live separately. I'd imagine males in that cannon who couldn't get a territory of their own would probably leave and adventure to find their own territory, which sounds similar to Sun Seeker males leaving to adventure to get stronger so they can be a nunhe one day. I personally wouldn't play a male Viera, but it would have been cool to see FF14s take on it.
What is worrying me is that all Viera seen so far in FF14, excluding Fran, have the exact same ear tuffs. I want diversity in ears, dammit! There's diversity in Miqo'te tails, please let Viera have some ear diversity.
What really make no sense is no female Hrothgar, they are based on Ronso that had females everywhere, seems like a cop-out.
