Finishing the CUL lvl 50 quest after completing 2.55 makes me think she's really alive ;). That was a bit of a story breaking shock! (slight joking here, but for real doing that CUL lvl 50 quest after finishing 2.55 made me raise a few eyebrows)

I only just started the DRG story (after finishing 2.55) and Estinien had no idea who the hell I was (even though we acknowledged each other in the 2.55 scene). I'm willing to simply call patch chronology and move on.

As there is a coverup going on in Uldah perhaps they have placed a look-alike on the throne for now and our characters play along with it so as not to rock the boat before it's time for action? Only way I can rationalize it lol.

I'm kind of surprised they didn't just slap all of the old quests in an Echo.

Seeing Nanamo during the Culinarian questline would have been no different than running around Ul'dah in 1.0 with Minfilia as a little girl.

Granted, we can just pretend that is what's going on, but polish like that is the kind of thing I'd expect from SE, or any major developer (who isn't Bethesda and instead content to lump that on the modding community).

Considering the 1.0 MSQs happen as Echo flashbacks without us knowing... I'd say one line from Middy once we start the expansion can clear that up.

On the theory that Ilberd is Gaius, I just dont believe it. Maybe Ilberd thought that the strategy that Gaius used in his city-state was really good and did to Uldah.

I dont know I just really think Gaius is dead :p
