Mouseover Macros have the be best for healing!!!!

I have a feeling the answer is going to be no, but I want to ask anyway. Is there a way to make a macro that will cancel Cleric Stance if it's active but not use it if it isn't active? The intent would be to macro this into my Cure spells so that I never accidentally cast a Cure with Cleric Stance active.
I haven't played with healing macros yet nor have I read all 21 pages of this thread so I will just ask lol.
Is the <stpc> command we have in xi still usable in xiv and if we do does it function the same? It always made healing easy since you could just arrow up or down to the char you wanted to target. I hate using a mouseover, it feels clunky and and awkward to me
Mouse over macro's seem to bug out and heal myself instead of my mouse over target. Not safe in coil.
nice macros so far. i'm trying to create one where when a spell that has a long cooldown is used, i can use the /wait command and just before it comes off cooldown, it will echo to me saying that its ready. since i read somewhere that the maximum /wait is 60. is there a way to chain it if the cooldown is longer than 60s? also discovered a problem with it... eg
/micon "Swiftcast"
/ac "Swiftcast" <me>
/wait 58
/echo Swiftcast is UP in 2s !!!
now, on its own..the above macro works. but if u cast another spell after that..then it wont work for some reason..any ideas?
I think multiple /waits work. Haven't actually tested it, though.
/wait 60
/wait 30
for a 90 second CD.
You can cast other spells if they're pulled straight out of the abilities menu. You can't use other macros. You can only have one macro running at a time. Using a macro while another is still running kills the first one and starts the second. The only thing you can really do about it is not rely on long /waits, avoid using macros for other spells, and/or stick use /recasts in macros that you use more often (e.g., put /recast Swiftcast in your Cure II macro so you get that information in your chat log regularly).
And I agree with this post. I don't mean to offend anyone but most of the macros here are pointless, if not hurtful. They might ease your work in less demanding dungeons but in harder ones like Titan and Coil you have to be much more fluent and responsive, you simply don't have the luxury of waiting out your macro to end.
I also find <mo> macros a preference thing and I believe it's ok to use them if you prefer mouse targeting (obviously). With that said, I only use 2 macros.
/micon "Energy Drain"
/ac "Energy Drain" <t>
/ac "Energy Drain" <tt>
and
/micon Raise
/ac Swiftcast <me>
/wait 1
/ac Resurrection <t>
/ac Resurrection <mo>
/ac Raise <t>
/ac Raise <mo>
I also liked the idea of what I adopted as "Sprint-a-lot" macro:
/ac "sprint" <me>
/wait 30
/ac "sprint" <me>
/wait 30
/ac "sprint" <me>
/wait 30
/ac "sprint" <me>
/wait 30
/ac "sprint" <me>
/wait 30
/ac "sprint" <me>
/wait 30
/ac "sprint" <me>
/wait 30
/echo Out of sprints!
I can see this being useful in Titan especially, and I'll try it as soon as I get the chance.
I tend to just use manual heal methods. I find it much quicker, much more in control. I've never "needed" macro's
I generally just use the party menu on the left and click from there, can build up quite a good rhythm! :D
Is there a macro or function allowing me to keep an enemy on focus while I heal? It is good to see his health and know what he is casting.
Ack I use F as a macro for spells :p Can you tell me what it is called?
edit: actually that may be ok, thank you!
First I mainly play with controller HUD.
Currently on my keyboard
Alt + , = is second slot on my horizontal hotkey bar. (Prescience DoT Combo w/o Stone)
Alt + . = is third slot ".....". (DoT Combo + Stone I)
F1 = 4th Slot (Prescience of Mind)
Space Bar = First Slot (Cleric Stance Here)
With that said, some of the macros I've made with my Controller/keyboard play style:
/micon "Aero"
/ac "Aero"
/wait 1
/ac "Virus"
/wait 1
/ac "Eye for an Eye" <8>
/ac "Eye for an Eye" <4>
-> This macro I usually use to place Eye for an Eye on a tank without having to use a new hotkey. I combined Aero and Virus as well. So basically to work this macro correctly, I arrange my party so a tank is always in the 8th or 4th slots. If there is no player in an "8th" slot( for example if your only in a 4 man dungeon) it will cast the skill on the player in the 4th. Afterwards to use this macro successfully, I aero any target first and it will do the rest. If there's a dungeon that requires two tanks though like coil, I keep the tanks together on the bottom of my party list but Eye for an Eye will always only hit one of them.
Fast Strong Heals (Useful in coil or Speed Runs in various dungeons/ Titan: Mountain Buster Phase)
/micon "Divine Seal"
/ac "Divine Seal" <me>
/wait .5
/ac "Presence of Mind" <me>
Speed DoTs
/micon "Presence of Mind"
/ac "Cleric Stance" <me>
/wait .5
/ac "Presence of Mind" <me>
/wait .5
/ac "Thunder"
/wait 2
/ac "Aero II"
/wait 2.5
/ac "Aero"
/wait "1"
/ac "Virus"
/wait .5
/ac "Cleric Stance" <me>
Regular DoT combo + Stone I for Heavy Proc
/ac "Cleric Stance" <me>
/wait 1
/ac "Stone"
/wait 2.5
/ac "Thunder"
/wait 2.5
/ac "Aero II"
/wait 2.5
/ac "Aero"
/wait 1
/ac "Virus"
/wait 1
/ac "Cleric Stance" <me>
Oh yeah and that Lazy Stoneskin Macro cycling through the party list, which has been posted already.
Hi all, first post, anyway...
I've been having an issues with my mouse over macros where I myself am being healed instead of the target. I know some other people have been having an issue as well, and a few quick google searches show me that either to have <mo> on its own, or remove anything like <t> or <me>.
I don't want to have to outright get rid of it since I love mouse over game play. I'm including the macro I currently use and maybe after seeing it someone can give me some sort of suggestion other then what I found via google:
/micon "Cure"
/ac "Cure" <mo>
/ac "Cure" <focus>
/ac "Cure" <t>
/micon Virus
/ac Virus <t>
/p Virus on <t> (10s) <se.01>
/micon "Eye for an Eye"
/ac "Eye for an Eye" <t>
/p Eye for an Eye on <t> <se.01>
This helps when you are trying to do a virus rotation or have other people that may be using Eye for eye on a tank. For a tight virus rotation you could add this at the end of the first macro:
/wait 10
/p Virus Down -Party member- Next <se.01>
Prescense of Mind doubles the spell speed stat. So PoM effectively scales with gear/spell speed. For me, presence of mind gives me roughly 1.8-1.9 second GCD compared to 2.39 with my base spell speed. But will be different for everyone depending on a players spell speed.
I love macros that take advantage of cooldowns. For example, here is my Raise macro:
/macroicon "Swiftcast"
/ac "Swiftcast" <me>
/ac "Presence of Mind" <me>
/ac "Raise" <t>
/wait .8
/ac "Raise" <t>
Here is how it works: If Swiftcast is available, the macro will activate this and then Raise; it will not activate Presence of Mind and the first Raise because Swiftcast is still in its casting phase. If Swiftcast is still in cool down, then the macro will then activate Presence of Mind before casting Raise. Finally, if both Swiftcast and Presence of Mind are in cooldown, then Raise itself will be cast.
Cooldowns also make macros that use button mashing possible:
/micon "Divine Seal"
/ac "Divine Seal" <me>
/ac "Presence of Mind" <me>
This macro requires you to press the button *at least* two times. First press activates "Divine Seal" then the second press activates "Presence of Mind" since "Divine Seal" is still in cooldown.
Playing in the PS3 means using the crosshotbar, which means switching from one hotbar to another to be able to use most of your skills effectively. I find that you can actually bind "Cleric Stance" with the /chotbar command to make macros, and this effectively gives you an "attack crosshotbar" when "Cleric Stance" is on, and a "healing crosshotbar" when it is off.
Requirements for this to work are
- In Start > System > Character Config > Hotbar Settings > Cross, set both "Enable Customization" and "Enable Customization for when weapon is drawn" to off
- Choose two crosshotbars, one will be your "Healer Hotbar" (in this example Hotbar 1) and the other will be your "Cleric Hotbar" (here, Hotbar 5). Set your hotbars such that your "Cleric Hotbar" has your attack spells and macros, while your "Healer Hotbar" has your healing spells and macros.
(continued)
Now set this macro in your Healer Hotbar (Hotbar 1 in this case)"Attack Hotbar"And this macro in your Cleric Hotbar (Hotbar 5)
/macroicon "Cleric Stance"
/ac "Cleric Stance" <me>
/chotbar 5"Healer Hotbar"I would suggest placing these macros over the most used upon spells/macros in the other hotbar. This way, button mashing will change the hotbar then fire up your most used often spell in the other hotbar. For example, my "Attack Hotbar" macro is in the L2+X position of my Healer Hotbar, which is in the same position as my "Stone II" macro in my Cleric Hotbar. Therefore, by mashing L2+X while in my Healer Hotbar, the "Cleric Stance" spell is activated, hotbar changes, and "Stone II" is fired.
/macroicon "Cleric Stance"
/ac "Cleric Stance" <me>
/chotbar 1
(continued)
I would suggest having this additional macro in your Attack Hotbar, your "OH SHIT!" macro:
"Divine Healer"
/macroicon "Divine Seal"
/ac "Cleric Stance" <me>
/chotbar change 1
/ac "Divine Seal" <me>
and placing this over the position of your "Cure II" spell/macro in the Healer Hotbar.
Finally, unfortunately the macros are not perfect. If you press the macro before "Cleric Stance" cools down or in the middle of another spell, the hotbar will change without firing "Cleric Stance" and your attacks or (worse) heals will be suboptimal. That's why I recommend either placing a regular "Cleric Stance" spell in one or both hotbars, or get yourself familiar with changing hotbars on the fly (i personally use this latter one)
good for ppl having trouble clicking.
I don't use macro's though so can't share any!
Good advice on your stance dancing macro. If you go back and edit a previous post though, you can bypass the 1000 character limit instead of continued, continued, continued...
i.e. this post is 1192 characters long. I chop out what fits, and add the rest later.
Anyone know how to turn off buffs/stances with a macro command? I want to start healing but since I use controllers, I want to use separate sets for healing and attack spells. I figured that /chotbar change would be best if place on the cleric stance but the on and off from pressing the cleric stance sometimes leads me to healing with cleric stance on. Something like
/buff "Cleric Stance" off
/ac Cure <t>
Would really be nice.
You don't need to make multiple posts for longer posts. Just edit your first one since editing posts doesn't have a letter/word count, btw.
