Go to preorder site. Sign in up top. Make sure all links are USA links.
Enter code. You should get a different code back. This only works for pc. (probably because SE controls the PC codes whereas they get the PS3 codes from sony)

Hey guys, hey! For starters, I'm exhausted. Sat in 2+ hrs for chat support only for them to Disconnect me when it was my turn.
Talked with vendor and Square Enix support, no success. I did however get 5 emails with the same EU PSN code.
So, I figured fine I'll try it since I have a working EU account.
Code worked fine on my EU PSN account, downloaded client, am currently installing it. I got the error Vakim got when running the P4 client I had already installed. I'm currently installing the new client I got from redeeming my EU code.
It's at 50% right now. Hopefully it works, and I can at least link this to my SE-account and play on the PC (don't really care for the PS3 version.)
This has been one giant mess for me since P4.
TL;DR
I'm trying the EU trick. Wish me luck.

I just noticed that while I was readying the client on my PS3, I accidently created another FFXIV service account. One was created on 14th of June and I used to create my beta 4 character (FFXIV 1) and the other was created yesterday to register my early access code (FFXIV 2).
I'm under the impression that I have my beta 4 character under FINAL FANTASY XIV 1 and my early access benefits under FINAL FANTASY XIV 2. So, when the early access comes Saturday, I'm thinking I'm stuck with an account with no early access goodies or one with no character.
Can anyone confirm this? Is there any way I can remedy this?
Good luck but I will wait and see if SE will fix this I can only see linking a Eu account to my Na account might make for more issues down the road. If I miss out on EA ok but I want my mog and cat items. Since I know they can be redeem from now till December there is still hope I will get my items. Just I have a feeling you are turning you account into an eu account that could be an issue come sub time.

Welps, it seems the PSN client is ID tied.
I opened up the freshly downloaded and installed client I got from redeeming my EU PSN code on my EU PSN ID. I got the same error, and it asking me to re-enter my code (which doesn't work on my US PSN ID.)
So I switched over to my EU PSN ID and launched the client, it worked fine. I'm going through the setup to see if I can bind the info to my SE Service Account...
HOWEVER, if this works, for PS3 users I get the feeling they'd have to use their EU PSN IDs to launch the client. Going to test it now...
Got the same error Valkim Did. It's asking me to register using the promotion code I used. =[
I think you are misunderstanding - you are only using the EU account to gain access to the client that is available in the PSN store. So far, it appears that the client is language/region universal. After downloading the client, you switch back to your playstations US profile and launch the client. From here you log in using the square enix account you used when registering your pre-order early access promo code
No dice right now. I tried to use my SE-Service account, got error "wrong region."
...Wonder if I can change my region on my SE account or at this point just give up. Chances are I've already screwed the chances of getting a working NA key haha.

ummm i have a question. What happens when there is a ps3 expansion that comes out... and it will be NA....
Looking through the SE-Service Account options, there is no obvious way to change my region which clearly states "Americas."
So at this point, I don't know what to do outside of wait for SE to respond to my tickets (and not just close them without a response.)
For anyone not sure what I did:
US PSN ID couldn't claim the code that the pre-order site gave me.
Opening the P4 client prompt me to enter the 12-digit code, of course my code didn't work.
Switched to my EU PSN ID. I was able to claim the 12-digit code and downloaded a new client.
I switched back to my US PSN ID, and the new client wouldn't load (asked me to enter 12-digit code, which again didn't work.)
Swapped back to EU PSN ID, ran new client it opened up fine, accpeted EULA, then asked for my SE-Service Account info. I entered it in and got a nice new Error:
"This region is different. Please log into a region where you registered your Square Enix Account."
Back to trying to get the client to run from my US PSN ID. Oh god this has been such a pain. Guess I'll be missing Early Access at this rate, and now I got a code I have no idea what to do with haha.
Has anyone got the error post saying, "a server was not found [11070][500]" while trying to update the client? If you have and found a way to get by this to update the client please help.

You guys taking a gamble. I suggest you pre-order the game from a retailer, get the code, and then cancel your order. Use the new code to get a new PS3 code now that the issue is fixed. Although this process is not the most ethical, this is the only one solution to this issue. SE has done a horrible job fixing this problem, shameful because you would think this would be their highest priority, trying to keep CUSTOMERS from leaving.
The version of the game you preorder does not matter, but get a physical copy not a digital. I would go as far as suggesting you do it from Amazon.com to get your pre-order code almost instantly.
No, the code wouldn't work. Steps of how it happened:
Register code from GMG (my "PC" code) and get a PSN code.
PSN code doesn't work on US PSN. d'oh.
I launched the P4 beta client on my US PSN ID and it prompts me for a code, I enter the only 12-digit code I got and it says invalid. I cry.
Brain storm, try claiming ID with EU PSN ID, jump through hoops, now client is region locked. I cry some more.
I think the real error was them waiting until, literally, the last 4 days before early access to allow us to register.
Its not too late to pre-order from the PSN and cancel your current order.
I'm still getting the error on PS3 "The code you have entered is incorrect or no longer valid." This is ridiculous the customer service at Square Enix is just terrible and it's sad that they treat there paying customers like this. No communication nothing I don't understand.
I've joined 14 at P3 , for some reason between P3 and P4 my SE account was hold on stand-by or what ever so when P4 arrived I've just decided to created a new account and make a new char.. who cares the char for P3 was deleted anyway so we had to restart all over. I've bought the game from PSN (so it is Digital copy) when I arrived to the ''Accept use Agreement'' they asked me the option of FFXIV with the char of another server ONLY (the one I used for a JP server) and not the char from the server I want : my question is simple if I accept the agreement will I get the chance at the launch going back to Ultros server and get the EA plus items? or I will only have the chance to play on Ultimas(JP server)

Well at this point I'm out of ideas. If I REALLY wanted to play I guess I can create a new Square account for Europe or some crap.
See, my issue is a little different then some of you guys. I bought from Green Man Gaming who have this no refund policy if they already shipped out a code. Since seconds after placing the order I get a code, they won't let me cancel. So I'm probably screwed...Guess I'll be out $50...again...
well what about when your physical copy comes you should be able to play then on your regular account right?
You not screwed Railven. You can keep your greenmangaming order. Keep in mind early access and registration key are different thing. Nothing stopping you from playing with GmG, but you will lose your early access unless you preorder someone else and cancel said order. I had 2 codes and would of given you one had I not wasted one on a PS3 EU failure.
To be more clear. GMG will send you the registration key the day of official launch which you must apply to your account. This region issue thing is for the Pre-order bonus, which has nothing to do with what you actually paid for on GMG.
Also answer me this, why did you get the PS3 early access if you ordered a PC version of the game? You won't be able to play after the early access on PS3. Would have to return back to PC.
Ehh I'm just going to call gamestop tomorrow, explain my situation, and pray that they have any spare preorder codes for me.
Digital Copy, no physical discs.
From what I'm understanding (and seeing) it seems once you register the GMG preorder you get a standard PC Key. (I bought two keys one for GF, one for me, she registered find, played P4 fine, me - having second of thoughts about this game.)
I'm confused how I got a PSN code from entering in a "PC" pre-order code. GMG can't answer nor can Square and they keep pointing fingers at each other.
Bought NA PC version, got EU PSN code, and now confused if I'm stuck.
Unless GMG will send me a different serial key on launch day, but I doubt that.
I can always accept the agreement and if I aint in Ultros server in 2 days ... guess I'll just play in JP server with a Lalafell.. tbh Idc for the items of SE all I cared was to be able to play on EA that's it.
