Can you elaborate then?

And yet I have never once been killed by a SAM LB in FL.
I really am enjoying the posts though. Its amazing how many people here are unable to come to terms with the fact they make bad decisions in pvp and just blame everything else.
I have one. It pays quite well.
NA horde meta is target the drk or pala who are invulnerable and nothing else every single time, nobody bothers switching targets ever, it's so easy to jump ranged jobs when you see a drk go in first I do it all the time, and I also pull all enemy drk's and palas off platforms or cliffs when possible because it's the only way to get your mindless zerg to target something else.
Ok, I played a lot Seal Rock tonight than usual and I definitely find this is more of your personal problem.
First of all, the meta you described do not exist, because NA meta has always been Horde Stampede and Ape Strong and basically if you gives the mob a target to focus fire that target will die.
This is NA's strength but also weakness because this meta perform poorly in Secure and Shattered and only works in Seal Rock and Onsal Hakir.
Especially you are on Aether, in which has alot more PvP players than Primal.
Machinist is not the only job with built-in aoe effect, pretty much every job in 6.1 has it.
Takes Monk for example, Enlightenment is a straight line aoe and a primary attack for Monk because of Pressure Point Effect buff
Riddle of Earth outputs a pathetic AOE damage but it is the lifeline for Monk to stay alive
Monk has longest ramp up time to the primary damamge move Meterodrive and that means I am always in SAM's attack range.
However, I literally has no issue with SAM because their LB is simply too easy to play around and they really don't have the burst ability without LB.
Takes this suggestion, makes a countdown macro created by Japanese and just put on SAM on Frontline
The overwhelming attack and stunlocks will either force them to retreat or they die before they can LB
Not to mention Machiens has effective range stun.
If you are looking for one vs one, you are in the wrong game.
If you are looking for advantage gained from gear stats, you are in the wrong game
If your ideal balance is to keep your KD looking better, you are also in the wrong game
This expansion is balance on synergy of jobs, this not 5.1 version any more, so you need to get over with it.
Be adpoted to the changes or forever ranting about something will never happen like you currently are.
Balmung is on crystal datacenter, not Aether? https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/worldstatus/
But incase you wanna know the kind of people that are on Crystal here's 3 games of tonight:
First game people can't cope with losing so they claim enemy is speedhacking, which they aren't, they prob saw bard lb or war lb.
Second game I get to watch more then half the raid fall to a drk+drg combo 5 times in a row.
Third game I get to watch 3/4 of my raid get hammer and anviled 3 times in a game because none of them know what the M key does.
Trust me, nobody changes targets and everybody just attacks the invulnerable drk's and pala's all game long.
You really think these people are gonna care about a mark on a sam?
Let alone the fact that the "counterplay" to sam is mark them and hope 24 people go for it? Like for real?
And I play war, I got 3 aoe's on my basic skills too, I never get sam lb'd unless I intentionally risk it if I think catching a bunch of enemies in my aoe is worth me sacrificing myself, that doesn't mean other jobs are as minimally affected as mine, like how apparently frazzle also triggers chiten, despite it doing no damage and chiten stating it only reacts to damage, that is just absolute nonsense.
Lol this person... yeah no, you're wrong just admit it. its okay to be wrong buddy.
The fact that you have nothing other then accusatory remarks regarding what i /want/ and what some other people might want because it sounds /fun/
Means you have NOTHING to say regarding what i just said earlier in the thread... so just sit there and look pretty because at this point your opinion is not all that great and constantly degrading
Others opinion just because you assume its a skill issue does not make you look like somebody who has a opinion worth listening to... infact both you and ransu... for the most part have been just dismissing others for no /valid/ reason, and its scummy.
TLDR its okay to be wrong but don't degrade others just because nobody agrees with your stinky opinion.
Usually playing as Ninja and there are three ways I'm getting eliminated.
1. Not paying attention and getting swarmed.
2. Early mid and getting yeeted down the ramp by a monkey.
3. SAM LB shenanigans.
Especially when having battle high the SAM loves to end it. Try to avoid them or shield when they're after me is the only counter that sometimes work.
oh, so you admit you're just projecting yourself upon others? good job i guess... now you just look silly lol.

You're not helping anybody by dismissing them lol but hey im not the one devaluing themselves... thats ALLL you...

Take a mirrior, you are dismiss on every comment that is different than yours
I actually suggest to use countdown macro because it does work
Now, you can focus your non-constructive ranting.
It is weird for someone who claims put me on ignore list yet jack into every of my post
Need a tissue?
Feel hurt when others point you the obvious?
Oh......poor thing
Others?
I would say their complains is from their inexperience, like 3 games a day, you are not learning much
For someone here specifically?
Yeah... for this indvidiual is definitely skill issue
You’re entitled to your opinion, I just personally don’t think SAM LB needs a nerf but then again, I (and most Crystal players and some diamond players) don’t have issues dealing with SAM LB.
I’ve noticed SAM LB only gets people that are not paying attention. Especially in FL where even if I mark the SAM “ignore1” ahead of time (BEFORE he even casts Chiten) simply because I predict what the SAM is going to do based on his position; people still get killed. SAM will rarely dive into a fight (even with his teammates) in FL without Chiten because it also mitigates damage. If they do dive w/o Chiten, they’re probably not good and will die pretty fast. If you see a SAM (in FL) all up in the nastiness (engagement), you SHOULD be expecting a Chiten and possible LB. It really is that simple. You can also gauge how good a SAM is simply by looking at his BH. If he has BH2 or >, you should automatically assume he knows what he’s doing. If he has BH1 or no BH, he’s probably not good (also depends on how long the match was going on for).
The 2 main classes I watch out for in FL are SAM and DRK. If I see one, I automatically assume the worst. SAM LB or DRK/DRG wombo combo. Whereas in Secure, I also watch out for MNK, MCH, WAR if I’m in knockback or golfing territory.
THANK you for sharing your opinion in a way that does not bring others down, while you are entitled to your opinion and while i can see how that would work, what do you do when you have a entire squad of samurai? are you just gonna ignore the group of samurais?
None of the PVP skills were balanced with frontlines in mind. I thought we learned this with the Paladin LB cheese when taking bases.
I don't think its a matter of them being incompetent, I think it's a matter of not focusing on it at all. They wanted to fix competitive pvp and they really couldn't do that while also keeping the balance of large scale pvp. Curious as the direction they will take it going forward. Will large scale have completely separate pvp skills in the future (my hope) or will they somehow try to change mechanics of large scale pvp to fit the current set of skills. Only time will tell.
but yeah, me and some buddys used to go in as squad of dragoons and all of us would limit break at once, nobody knew how to use guard so we just mopped the floor with em.. it was glorious
Getting 36 kills in one match felt sooo damn good.
