I understand what they are asking for.
And they are Laser Focused on that ONE thing. It doesn't matter if you explain Server Congestion or even that the team is working on Solutions to the problem.
Jadedsins wants and only cares about ONE thing, A ReQue
They want a System where if for Whatever Reason they get an error/kicked out the game, they want a system that gives them Priority back to the front of the line to get back in. They want the game to recognize an Error Logout and get them back in automatically within a Period of time.
And then they want to be told Why that idea/system can't be in the game cause its not in the game. And act like its a simple system.
Hopefully thats a More Digestible way to get their point across, cause I know they have a habit of just being Snarky and devolve to Name Calling
I mean, if I'm "obtuse" then you certainly fit the criteria of what assumptions do.
There are three valid reasons you can't play at all in off peak hours.
1. You're still at school, therefore mind your manners and stick to your schoolwork.
2. You're a parent that works 9 - 5, therefore you probably got other things to do with your time, like maybe not ignoring your kids so you can be on videogame?
3. You just can't be bothered to change your sleeping pattern so you can get up a little earlier or stay up a little later to get time in during off peak. In which case, that's a you problem.
See this is problem with some of the WoWfugees as much as most of them are most welcome and have fit right in and are happy to have them here...
You want to throw insults around like you're still on the Battlenet forums and not expect the more actually adult community to swing back.
Now if you're an older person, yes, maturity is a mindset and if you want to jump on a forum throwing around snipey remarks, then I think you should probably concentrate more on growing up than whether or not you can get on a video game.
Was that Obtuse enough for you?
The classic defense of the passive aggressive troll is to go right for intellect, thinking themselves smarter.
Commonly known thing in psychology anyone that has a tendency to try act intellectually superior, I.e "bragging about their supposed massive intelligence" is usually the opposite and feels the need to constantly compensate by trying to tell everyone "just how much smarter they are than them"
It's basically the same thing as small other things, compensatory behaviour by bragging.
So by all means, continue, tell me just how massive your brain apparently is and just how superior your intellect is.
Oh I'm not a victim, just calling it as it is.
So which one is it? Your "massive intellect" brag or something a little more sinister, because you know what "your betters" can also constitute, given it's a phrase often associated with a certain type of individual that like to wear bed sheets.
It's important to keep in mind that the influx of players was so dramatic, Square couldn't have seen such a thing coming. Luckily, this is a sign that they can probably invest in more resources. Be patient, things will be taken care of accordingly. I'm sure the last thing they want is angry customers.
My Q was at only around 400 this afternoon. I got to play just fine. Just to compare... it was at 6000 yesterday at the same time. It seems wait times are already faster now so i wont complain.
The dcing is valid point should have a grace period of few mins at least during expansion launchs. After sitting in queue of 6k+ with dcs and resets finally getting in starting next quest. Then running to npc and dcing back to a 6k queue isn't fun at all.
I was there to experience the stormblood disaster and memes, and now there's probably five times as many people playing with no new servers being added thanks to the chip shortage.
Honestly what were people expecting?
I'm guessing this is many people's first rodeo of major mmo updates.
Servers require hardware to upgrade and expand, without the required hardware made with certain components you can't upgrade or expand your servers. I work for an Electronics Manufactauring company, we have certain parts that have a lead time of August 2023. The part shortages ARE real.
I wonder. You can pay a server company to allocate servers dedicated to your platform. Why isnt this an option for SE? It would use their resources as well.
Because SE decided to crunch the number and decided that they would loose less money from people leaving. Then from paying for the servers.
If you don't accept the apology, you as a customer have the power to play no longer and move on to the next broken game. Battlefield, GTA, mass effect 4, Or the long list of triple-A games that have come out broken over the last years.
have you heard how bad it was back in 1.0. This is a great launch.
Releasing broken games is now acceptable for some reason
Sadly games don't need to be gold if we can patch them later seem to ring true for all dev but a few small guys that really care.
This is flawed logic. Just because I don't like how they handle this. Does not mean I should give up other parts of the game that I do. This must be a western thing for sure. If you don't like this part of something quit. Is the dumbest answer I have seen in my life.
I'm just calling the developers out on this. We had these same issues before the launch of the expansion, and they did not fix them.
I am also calling the community out who keeps deflecting to a chip shortage, that has nothing to do with the errors, and wanting a buffer for when you get dc in game you can jump back in.
I think I did a good job on it. I feel better.
Well, everyone is talking like SE should have expected all of this to happen. I have been part of every FFXIV launch and I have never seen this before. If you would have told me that I would have to sit in a queue of 5K and wait over an hour to log into FFXIV a couple of years ago, I would have laughed at you. Even if they did anticipate it, it was probably too late. They probably didn't have the time to get the physical infrastructure in place. However, my only question is... we're in the age of cloud computing where you can literally rent resources and scale them to your immediate needs. Couldn't they just have hooked up with some infrastructure-as-a-service cloud vendor for at least launch? All these people will likely be gone in a week or two. They just want to experience the story and see the conclusion to this story arc. Didn't have to invest in permanent resources.
All of that changes nothing.
People can try to que up or continue to play the forums.
They are attempting to address the lobby disconnects now.

It's interesting, OP is a lvl 88 Dancer since the last time the character profile was updated.
They've played more than most people, but still think they're entitled to complain.
I hate that we can have a story like we've got in Endwalker and people still wont learn the lessons from it.
