Best we can hope for is fanfest. If there's nothing there, or really anything accompanying the expac, these races are dead in the water.

At this point I think they somewhere changed plans from small updates to either big ones, or tying it to future upgrades, we'll see.

Here are the facts.
1- This is a situation you have no control over. They said that they would give unique hairs at some point, no amount of threads whining about it changes their time-table. People have been doing this for 2 years, your thread and your voice isn't the one that's going to remind them of the state of the characters in their own game. They are fully aware of the state of these races and that people aren't happy with the hair ... they make and play the game after all. They're the ones who decided to make limited races after all.

2- When they finally do release the hair and any headgear advances them may make it's not going to be because the devs were just chilling when suddenly YP storms in and says "OMG, I just read this random English thread! WE FORGOT ABOUT VIERA AND HROTHGAR HAIR FOR 2 YEARS!! We gotta get on that ASAP!".

No, it will be because a looong time ago they made a road map that scheduled the development, completion and delivery of this stuff with in w/e time frame based on its importance to them compared to any number of things they have to make sure to get done for the game. There's a reason many people figured you would have to wait until the end of ShB or the release of 6.0 to get these hairs. And here we are, end of ShB with the likely reveal of new hairs in May.

I agree. My feeling are that there will be a major reveal for Viera/Hrothgar in the Reveal which will in a way reenergize the race hype for the new xpac given I doubt seriously we'll see any new races coming in 6.0. If there is nothing new in May I don't know what to say. It would a major disappointment too all of use using them.

I hope there is also a commitment to not skip over the races for 6.0 and beyond events and that there will be something for them released periodically as well.

Right, instead of a new race, I'm expecting them to add the male Viera and female Hroth and count that as "new race", alongside with more hairstyles for those. I doubt the hat problem will be looked at, though.

And also, I'm expecting new additions to the old races, like new face models, new tails, horns separated from faces, new colors, facepaints.

But one thing that they got to add at some point is a texture upscale. It's been a while since we were bound to PS3's limitations, and they are doing such upscale for the interface icons already for the PS5 release. They got to up the blurry textures we have right now, because it will defnitely look terrible in the PS5. It already does in the PC version.

In special circumstances they have been known to put themselves in the red in an attempt to get themselves back into the green. That's basically how this game (well, the current iteration) came to be. But the fate of their company was on the line, so...desperate times called for desperate measures. Otherwise yeah, they tend to maximize profit while minimizing costs. That's just how businesses work in general though.

Wish you luck but I think the chance of male Viera and female Hrothgar are pretty slim. They haven't been able to deal with the latest additions let alone add more. I'm hoping that at the least we'll get to see some major additions to the current ones.

To be honest, I doubt we see new races in a very long time, if ever again.

They specifically said that they went with the split race because they don't think they'll be able to add any more after this, so they wanted to get two popular requests in at once.

yes thank you SE for the new races, i've loved my viera. No need to push yourself any further, maybe a few new hairstyles, but you can focus on other things.

I think the next reveal will be more hairstyles for the Viera and Hrothgar as they know that it would be a selling point so they are holding back!

I understand people who play those races being annoyed, but also they could have done with updating the whole character creation system.

I really don't appreciate the way that you talk about us Americans. Everyone's opinion should be heard. Does it mean it should be respected? Nope, but everyone has the right to at the least go to the lowest person who can deal with the problem, and at least get some form of representation. I really hate the whole "oh look someone is complaining, must be American!" being used as a way to invalidate someone's issue. These forums are for English speakers, not only American players. I haven't even set foot outside of Europe and I completely agree with OP being tired of viera and hrothgar constantly being treated as if they don't exist. Anyway you don't even need to be located in NA to play on NA servers. At best we can guess what nationality someone is.
