These conditions were easy to meet. With enough practice you could pull it off easily. I prefered not to use it but I had rdm in my groups who did. Well anyway, it is fixed now.

Something I don't think a lot of people are considering is how easy it is to hit RDM skill ceiling. This is both a positive and an negative. In a lot of the current fights with real heavy movement happening a lot of the time RDM is pulling pretty close to their top possible numbers. The issue with this comes from an easier fight that is more of a dps check, in which the RDM will still pull similar numbers and won't sky rocket like some other jobs "should", for example, if BLM isn't pulling bigger numbers on minimal movement fights then it should be buffed rather than RDM being nerfed since on target dummies BLM does more dps than RDM.

There's just very little the RDM can do to improve their dps as facts such as learning fights or having less mechanical fights come into play while other jobs will only see improvements with both factors. Other jobs should be rewarded heavier for aligning things properly and if they aren't, that right there is the actual issue.

People make these kinds of threads and I laugh. SE don't listen to these complainers they actually did a GREAT job with Red Mage. Its probably the most complete job in this game that you can tell they made sure to make right and not mess up. Same goes for Samurai. It makes sense that these jobs are so complete because they put so much focus in creating a battle system that would make these jobs more complete and then integrated the other jobs to that model. SE isn't going to touch Red or Sam they only will just continue to get the other jobs that need help like MCH integrated better with the combat system.

I hope you are right. I am loving RDM and it's the most fun I have had in an MMO in years. Rather sad to see a small but noisy group of people throwing out so much hate at the new classes because heaven forbid the DPS meta gets shaken up ever so slightly.

At least Yoshi and friends so far are sticking to their guns so far and putting class theme and flavor above buzzkills groaning about BLM not being at the top DPS of every single fight in existence or whatever it is this week.

I'm happy SE did their research and located a glitch which was inflating the standing of red mages on the dps rankings. As a player, and as someone who loves his red mage, I want things to be fair.

If SE had listened to the more strident posts, nerfed red mage damage, and afterwards fixed the glitch.... well, l'm happy that didn't happen.

Either buff the potency and damage potential of everyone else (cept maybe Samurai lol) or slightly tone this job down. I mean, I know they want this job to really look great and it is! The overall structure of the job currently is amazing and captures the feel of a Red Mage perfectly. However it should NOT be outdamaging some dedicated DPS by such a huge margin as it is now. In the very least, be on par would be better but numbers don't seem to be lying. I'm not usually proponent for nerfing either, but there's a definitive problem here. At most just a slight potency decrease for key, off cooldown abilities would be enough imo. I really like how RDM plays in this, it just needs a very very slight trim.

Personally, I think the big culprit is Fleche. Everything else is fine, but Fleche is a little ridiculous for how short its cooldown is. That said though, I think the much bigger problems lie in the other jobs at the moment. RDM just happens to be well made so its being more consistent than some of the others by that benefit.

its simple... learn 2 play.
Grouped with experienced players iam always behind SAM and MNK, BLM sometimes deals more DPS then me, based on Encounter.
RDM is fine, done shout for nerfs if you cant play your class right. Its annoying.

I mean, I'm SAM/WAR main. It's not something that affects me because I'm always ahead on the deeps. However, that doesn't mean that RDM is OK, considering the second easiest job to play(Behind bard) is sitting pretty at 4.4k+ dps with 1/10th of the effort of literally every other job in the game.

I think you are forgetting the fact that A). A lot of the top Red Mages were abusing a bug B). Most of the current content fights just so happen to have mechanics that allow RDM to still put out DPS close to their Skill ceiling. C). As other players learn fights and newer fights come out with less movement other jobs will shoot passed it in dps.

For example, assume the RDM is at 4400 dps with a possible max of 4500 if played perfectly. Now assume the Ninja is pulling 4200 dps on a fight he's not familiar with with a possible average of 10% increase in dps for optimizing their rotation to mechanics and lining things up. Now that ninja has a possible 4620 dps while the RDM could never go beyond 4500. At face value people may see RDM as doing more dps than ninja but that actually isn't the case, it's just that RDM has an easier time hitting that ceiling than other jobs who still actually have higher dps but while learning new fights that dps falls a bit.

I am glad to see the mana glitch be resolved, should hopefully see RDM Dps drops down in the 90th percentile since you can't abuse this anymore?

I think you are confused with the term "summarise".

He meant the bug fix will lower their overall dps, no need to try to look smart to get the last word, a change has been done which will lower the overall dmg of the class. Just try to get the whole idea.
Now it will be more fair to compare to each other to talk about balance.

Yea I would say Sam looking their buffs isn't completely equal but pretty close to mnk looking gL3. Mnk at least has more tools to negate or mitigate the loss, Sam does not and must start from base all over again.

. Red Mage as it stands right now is exemplar to what every other class should strive for. Square should look at the red mage now as a example for the other classes that need work. I mean that in every possible way. Not just dps which idc about
