Questions regarding Stormblood Pre-orders or Collector's Edition

For Australian's the Collector's Edition is on EBGames Australia $269.95AUD.

Still nothing regarding New Zealand.

If you didn't use Steam keys and just added it to your library, then that's why it works. It's only tied to your Steam account through the key you use.

The $60 is the CE digital download which is the one I got and it's for PC and MAC and is also on the Playstation Store.

I imagine it's already in the coding when it download or it'll show up as an extra item you'll download parallel to the expansion when it releases.

Well I haven't gotten a pre order email from anything. At all. Only an email confirming my payment for the Stormblood CE on the Playstation Store. So I guess I wait then?

I remember there being something you had to do to see the code with the CE for the Playstation but I can't recall it if you still have your instructions from your copy of Heavensward check it out and see what it says.

Thank you so much SE for making the physical CE available through EB - and it's funny, it's actually a little cheaper actually than I thought it would be (I had nightmare visions of it being $400 AUD due to the US version being over $200 USD alone... gotta love that exchange rate. ):D

Alas I wont be able to finalize my order til Monday when the bank opens and I can top up my debit account (which my Visa card is attached to) with enough funds to cover the deposit for it (I usually only have enough funds on the card to cover planned transactions so as to avoid card fraud), so fingers crossed this doesn't sell out in the meantime.... *touch wood*

Sadly I didn't buy the digital CE for Heavensward last time so the instructions I had I don't believe will help me this time. That being said I did notice that the game say that I can download it in 139 days from now which is the 14th, 2 days before the early access date. Wondering if it is all just bundled together upon purchase and when the 14th comes and it is downloaded, all the stuff would go on mog station. I don't know though. Having some Dev help would be nice but I can wait.

The instructions Krytos listed sound like the instructions for how to register a physical copy of the game. For console players, if you order the physical box (either from SE or a third party retailer), then there are codes you have to add to the PSN in order to tell Sony that you bought it (or ordered it in the case of the preorder code). But if you buy the digital version directly from the PSN, you don't need to tell them you bought it. They already know about the purchase, so it should be applied to your account automatically, without any codes involved.

(This also means if you have multiple PSN accounts or subaccounts, you need to be sure you're on the right one, the one that your FFXIV account is associated with, when you purchase the game from the PlayStation Store. The account you buy it from is automatically the account it's registered to.)

I had same nightmare that I payed $400 AUD for CE

So we aren't going to get a code if you bought it directly from the PSN store? Does that mean we don't need to enter it on the early access website either? I've never pre-ordered an expansion before (I started after HW was released) so I, like many others it seems, are confused and just want to make sure that everything will work out the way it is supposed to.

Make sure you make your purchase on same PSN linked to your SE account and you dont need to redeem any codes.

And sure enough, before I could even get to the bank this morning the PC physical CE sold out on EB Games' Australian site. :(

Although, this also happened before with Heavensward as well and EB Games later got more PC CE stock assigned about a week later (which I was then able to secure a pre-order for), so hopefully, this will be the case again.... hopefully. *crosses fingers*

Looks like gmg now has the downloadable version for pc (note: not compatible with the steam version) up for sale at a reduced price including a digital collector's edition:

PlayStation purchases automatically receive their bonuses and are entitled to play as part of the purchase and there will be no additional code needed.

Correct. When it comes to PlayStation Network purchases, all of that (pre-order bonuses entitlement, ability to play at release, etc.) is done as part of the purchase and requires no code redemption on the part of the user.

If I ordered the digital version and wanted to upgrade it to the collector's edition at some point, will that be an option? Through the Mogstore or do I have to buy it through S-E's store? I've always bought the Digital Collector's but this year money's a bit tight so I got the digital only edition but would like to surprise my wife with the collector's at some point.

Mostly because she wants the shiny items.

Coming up to a week since the confirmation and sale of the physical Collector's Edition via EB Games AUS, but still nothing regarding the sale in New Zealand.

Has there been any recent developments or have issues arisen that have proven too difficult to allow the sale of it in New Zealand?

I was wondering this as well. Although I am Australian (and managed to secure a preorder with EB Games for the PC CE after it was restocked), I would hate to see our NZ friends miss out. :(

You'll get the pre-order items when the game releases. The e-mail you got was just to confirm you got the game through them and not the square store.

Most likely as the game gets closer to release the other major retailers will get information on how to go about pre-orders for the expansion so just hang in there

If you bought through the PSN store everything is included and no further action is needed.

I bought the Collectors edition abd I wont be able to use that to update the version I bought on steam? ugh.

If you bought the initial game through steam you'll have to get the expansion through steam.
