bwahahahaha!
special needs much?
it's not like the game is complex
but if it's too complex for you go play Hello Kitty's Island Adventure

who said it was complex? oh that's right it wasn't me, but that doesn't change the fact it's too complex for alot of the people that have power leveled up. if it wasn't too difficult for them then they could actually play their classes instead of not even knowing what abilities they have nor what they do.
Doesn't matter how someone Gains levels if they are gonna suck they will suck regardless. Everything you learn in your little 5hr parties for 2 months. I can learn in a couple hours looking it up on the web. Even on XI I knew more about jobs I never even touched then some people who leveled up the "legit" way.
i never said it needed to go all the way back to what it was at release. 5 hour parties every day for 2 months may be more in line with the pace i'd like, but that i can understand others not wanting. i have no issues with that. what i have an issue with is that someone can sit on a chocobo and never even have to pull out their weapon and get rewarded for doing so. if the person is involved in the party and is actively participating then the speed would be ok to me.
even at the pace now if the people were actively using their skills and abilities all besides the slowest person could figure it out, but those people need to be active. you can read and realize don't cast a spell or tp move, but until you use those abilities you don't have the timing down to actually do it. i know alot of people that know alot about a topic, but just because they know what they are doing doesn't mean they can execute it.
They aren't in the game for you. Leave them alone with their goals and focus on finding others that share yours.
BTW someone IS working hard for the exp the people on chocobos gain. Maybe you should go see a shrink if stuff other people do, that doesn't affect you at all, bothers you so much.
I believe this link is for your discussion: Power leveling is absolutely BROKEN
a quote from other thread:
note: this thread is not about PL, not about hardcore vs casual and not about Grind Fest, please stay inside the topic
when they get in my party and is horrible at their job it does affect my gameplay. if forces me to kick them from my party and take the time to blacklist them. i don't have time to waist teaching a 50 how to play their job and what abilities they should be using. if they don't know their job i have no time to deal with them.
if i have to play in a game with them, where i may wind up with them in a party with me, then IT DOES EFFECT ME.
Well then your blacklist is going to fill up quickly after 1.20 as the entire playerbase will have no idea how to play their class.
Tell me this, how is a player who leveled quickly any different from someone who leveled slowly since launch just to have all their abilities stripped away and replaced? How is anyone going to be up to you standard?
there's a difference between everyone being on equal footing and learning a new system compared to a game being out over a year and some people with multiple 50's don't even understand the basics. yes, the abilities will change, but the basics will remain the same.
example: farming with thm the best is every 3 minutes i can use shadowsear or cast a double shadowsear every 5 minutes. that will be changed, but the method of taking down mobs will not change. i would believe someone that's been finding the best setup for a year will have a distinct advantage over someone that never got off their chocobo nor attacked a mob.
1) I have to assume by your first comment that you have never had a PL group in any game dominate or steal a spawning area from you and a party you were in or that you have never been MPKed by a PL or a Beastmaster in FFXI. I also have to assume that you are concluding that a level 10 Marauder is the same and capable of the same as a level 50 Marauder. PLs and people being PLed always affect others. They dominate camps used by people who party at those locations. They create a group of people who start doing end game material who have to be trained by others to perform the tasks required to complete said content because they are not really all that sure as to what they should be doing to start with. They also affect the economy by bypassing the normal buying and selling of lower end equipment, thus the reason why most Wards only have high end equipment. Not to mention they are normally not ready to fully equip that PLed class because they are too busy going from 10-50 in a few days and have no other means of generating gil. The list goes on and on...I will not bore you more since you don't agree.
1) I was not seeking your approval but hey thanks for the thumbs up :).
2) Two things. If you lawl at meeting people why are you recruiting for an LS? If you lawl at meeting people then why are you playing an MMO?
3) No I am not but I would prefer to be high than drunk like you for 3 reasons. a) Fewer dents in my car b) No headache c) I don't wake up in a pool of my own vomit or piss.
There are far better ways to simulate PLing that are fun for everyone involved and will teach people to play the game and take a little pride in what they are playing regardless of what class they are playing at the time. I would much rather see a level synching system than have a PL experience. At least people actually have to participate in order to level then.
Each patch up to 2.0 will bring with it fundamental changes to the way the game is played. But won't change is good players are good and bad players are bad regardless of how they leveled. This holds true because we're playing the same roles that have been in RPGs since the advent of RPGs.
Tanks tank, DDs deal damage, healers heal. How that's done specific to XIV has nothing to do with ever being in a party and everything to do with reading the description on your abilities.
We'll all be in the same boat till 2.0, and it will be players capable of doing a little research that come out on top regardless of how long it took them to level.
While I can't agree with the OP, I've tagged the thread with dev1132 relating to adjustments in experience points (not related to quests). Unless I'm horribly mistaken.

To be honest, I think this thread just needs to be closed. The comments have, as you pointed out, gone extremely off-topic - people are trying to address two different issues here in one thread, which leads to a lot of white noise, and I don't think people are willing to take that other issue to another thread (that is already available).
No, I agree that the ability to reach 50 quick does affect the world.
Just it simply does, it's not positive or negative.
PL groups steal camps? PFFT Give me a break! They are only as likely to do it as non PL groups. Douches will be douches, PL or not.
How about this? PL groups actually help you with leveling because they get much more exp than a regular group so they move out from camp quicker.
I don't think people PL so they can get exp for doing nothing, but so they level up much faster and have to spend less time grinding.
PL is the closest to a golden mean between people who like the grind and those who hate it.
It's not perfect, IMO perfect would be having separate servers for people who don't enjoy timesinks and those who do. Since we don't have that, PL is good enough if only you are willing to tolerate people with different goals and play styles.
