Thats great news, I see both the pros an cons or the cross world instant party creation so don't mind which way that turns out.
Con's - Unaccountability for actions, ninja looting etc.
Pro's - Massive population and cultural diversity.
Massive thumbs up though.
Edit:- I think it would be best adding this to the 3rd players poll to see what the majority of people think and not just the "noisy" few who post here
I will sign this 100 times if it means we dont get a cross-server system. Hell, I would actually pay the monthly subscrition NOW if it meant no cross-server system
Signed x100
Thankies for clarifying I thought this might be the case. Either that, or as previously stated, invitation without the need to be next to one another. I knew the servers were split in such a way; though depending on the architecture of XIV's servers I think a lot of testing is required regarding bridging them for parties/instances. Also; if that's the case, then essentially would there be little to no need for servers in general, due to all parties spanning them all?.
Why would you not want cross world party system? Are you daft? I would pay right now to have dungeon and cross world party system.
Part of me wants to see cross world/server content to see if SE actually could pull it off, I would have much more faith in them as a developer if they could.
Agree with this.Quote:

I need more information on "Cross-World Parties" before I can render an opinion.
As for "LFG Icon", and creating parties with players in different zones ... I am for both.
Cross-server instant party creation feature NO THANKS
(very interested in the idea though, just don't copy dungeon finder)
This was both the BEST & WORST thing that happened to WoW.
I don't want cross-server dungeons i don't want it to be like wow you sitting there all day in city not even worry about ppl right next to you who doing the same thing. You just enter get your stuff and leave. Also it does not build a good community, Top of that i don't know how many times i meet someone in other world and would like to be friends with. It was a pain in the ass to team up with someone in a dungeon who not in your world it was cancel, cancel too it pop up for both players. I don't want this to happen in FFXIV like what happen to me in ffxi i don't want to have more friends in other worlds then my own.

If they keep it to just dungeons then I don't see the problem, FFXIV is already a much different game to WoW, most of the content will be story based and require people from the same server to complete that content I would imagine, so I don't think there is any chance of the same thing happening here.
It's funny how many people on these forums are so opposed to good idea's just because WoW did it, sad really.
It's important to note that WoW leveling was very quest based before while FF14 is not. When dungeon finder was added, virtually no one did quests for leveling. Again this is something FF14 doesn't do, so who knows. It could be a good thing.
They seem to be speaking in the context of dungeons only for the implementation?
A seeking party flag is something I was sitting at Camp Horizon wishing I had on. I didn't want to sit at the PC spamming {Levesharing}{Party} {Do you need it?}{Can I have it?} for an hour. I want to play with others, but I also don't want to find a party by spamming that I'm looking for one. A toggle icon would work great.
Cross-World instant party creation system? Sounds dope! (That means good.)
I am in favor of this. /signed
I vote for no cross server instant dungeons....but I guess if it's implemented I won't care to take whatever items I need since I'll never befriend/see any of my party members again :/ (Sarcasim)
The age of the ego is becoming more prevalent in all existing communities these days it seems. "What's in it for me?... bla bla bla".Quote:

I think we're long past the days of player reputation & actually looking out for each other (even in our own LS's). The general public seems as if they don't have time to care. Wish it were easy for people to realize it's about the journey and not the bragging rights.
I'm just sick of the damn system in WoW. They don't even talk to each other. only fume and /kick and rage. Usually. I don't even do anything with the guild because me and my friends are too busy instancing. Then again I don't like WoW so maybe Ill enjoy XIV instances...uhhg leaves a bad feeling in the fingers typing that! haha
Uhg that reminds me. The leeches too. I almost forgot that they will just boot and replacing someone isn't that big of a deal.Quote:

FWIW I actually had a great guild in WoW and we used the dungeon finder mainly to find the odd 1 or 2 random members and in many cases we would still use it if we had a full party just to do the random daily.
So its not all bad, if you can't be bothered to make a small party with friend and then join a queue its your fault the system created a lacking in the community, the community starts with you at the end of the day.
Also if you did dungeons to level up and not the quest content then again that is your fault.
sign! yes please!
I guess what really bothers me is SE's dungeons may turn out to be as boring as WoW's. I just hope they make them as fun as assaults and Nyzul were. But that's for another thread. Apologies :)

why they did not copy this feature from XI is beyond reason...
Personally I liked the random dungeon finder in WoW(made parties for gear easier). Considering SE doesn't want to just copy/paste things from other games this would be a great time to build on that kind of feature while minimizing the cons that associate with it. The system would need to check users for optimal rank and optimal class gear equipped. To prevent a gimped lv50 GLA from entering with some lv50 mage armor(for example). While I could come up with more issues it would be pointless. The system is still being drastically changed so it's difficult to speculate and come up with ideas not knowing how these new/upgraded systems will be in the future.
Good Luck Yoshi-P and team you have a shitstorm at a garbage dump to clean up.
The cross-world solution is like a double edge sword for me. On one hand I consider it a great step in the right direction, but at the same time I could see this being a sole benefit to the "cookie-cutter classes".

Bingo. Also, I think we have a better and more polite community in Final Fantasy in general (by miles....), so IMO I think concerns tend to be overstated. Many more of those groups were fun than the couple you got that were bad. In a few ways it isn't so dissimilar from getting a random party together in FFXI back in the day. Some people you knew, most you didn't but it was generally a blast.
signed. Please on PLEASE SE GODS, put this feature in T_T
Signed. Would definitely make scouting around nodes for leve-goers easier.
need this badly. signed.
signed, player searching would be great too
Yes please signed.
I'm on par with the others here. Cross-Server instancing and maybe even partying would solve some "I'll Idle all day long" issues. But on the other hand it will be "probably" (doesn't have to be) like WoW. Get into the queue, don't talk, get your gear and leave.
It would be awesome if there's some sort of player filter. Let's say you can adjust the strength of the team. So Advanced Players will "only" play with advanced players. This kinda locks out the beginners from the advanced people, but the advanced players often don't like beginners in their team if they want to do a "quick" run.
So the possibilty to mix up those groups should be still given. The quick runs schouldn't be too easy and quick for the advanced players though. Running thru an instance within 20-30mins is not going to cut it. The rewards with EXP and maybe gear should be balanced in the instances.
For short term activities there's still the guildleves, incase you don't have much time to spare each day for instancing.
I dunno, there are a lot of pro's and con's. I'd be great to play with people from other servers, so you get a chance to play with RL friends who started on other servers. Like I said on the other hand the community might be downgrading to "boring and quick runs".
Hmm maybe it would be an option to adjust the strength of the enemies within the instance regarding of LV and gear values. So the difficulty of the instance raises if there's more advanced players and incase the group contains 2-3 "weak" players, the instance is still doable at some point.
This would solve the issue that the parties won't kick unexpierenced players. the disadvantage of this might be, that the players can adjust the difficulty at some point. "Lets pick 2-3 weak players so we have an easy game on this instance".
To work against that the gear/money reward could be adjusted as well. So only if you have a full party of advanced players they will only be able to get the better gear. This could be something like "Beginner Parties" will be rewarded with NQ, the "Mixed up Parties" with HQ and the "Advanced Players" with HQ+1/2/3 or something like that. (I know I know this kinda copies the Equipment Level from WoW, but the cross-server stuff too xD )
Ah well I'm eager to see what's coming up. The forementioned things are just random spreaded ideas, so don't take it too serious ;)
Cross-world partying would be an instant quitting flag for me. The system is already mindless as it is, remove the actual possibility for socialization with people from your server and there is nothing left of value.
Level-synch + bigger server population will solve every partying problem, so let's not be childish.
A cross-world system would also help RMTs to progress by mingling with normal players.
The flag is a great idea but you need to build on it. Allow for multi ques. If I'm sitting in town crafting and want to grind, but im not sure what I want to level, let me que up my MRD my LNC and my CNJ at the same time as I craft. Itll increase the chance of finding a party x3 and ill get some useful crafting done too.
