I'm still trying to figure out why you refuse to acknowledge my suggestion? Is it such a good idea you do not want to show that you agree because you like the attention?

Everyone wants everything right away, they don't wanna cook, Damn you fast food!
So far you have named more content in 2 minutes then the entire game currently has. btw i think there is already a quest required to leave your city state. You could also make everything else you said into a quest too.. Like want to equipped your epic armor you jsut found? your not epic enough so complete this quest to become epic. you want food? complete this quest and i'll give you food. I wish i could complete a quest to make you go away because you are ridiculous in your constant extreme posting.
There always be players who want to make things easier, no wonder lot of MMOs out there are either too easy or got shutdown because it was too easy. Players with "i wanna finish this as soon as possible" attitude play the game for a short while get bored because they got everything and quit.
Edit: Anyway, this all speculation, who knows what the Devs would do, hopefully they will make a decision to keep both type of gamers and those in the middle happy!
I don't understand why some people see the need to punish players for playing in a manner that does not suite them. Its such a selfish and self centered point of view. If folks want to teleport to their hearts content, let them. How does that affect the way you play? Why should it even concern you? If you don't like teleport simply don't teleport. Such a simple solution. Why must other players "suffer" because you prefer to be grossly inconvenience by the monotony of walk EVERYWHERE?
Besides that, it is the developers job to make traveling or exploring the region beneficial or exciting to the player. Currently there is no benefit to exploring the ends of this game's world. You see something magnificent on the horizon, you reach there and its nothing. No new quest, no new hub, no new anything. Just another desolate location on the map.
Hey Synapse, remembe rwhen you had to hit rank 5 to get an airship pass? All the fun and questing it brought? well who the hell needs that when you could be handed one or simply just keep using your anima!
Pot, meet Kettle!
Here is Mort's extreme posting!
Quote:
I think they should make the game so that you have 1% fail rate on crafting.. so i dont have to waste mass amounts of time leveling up to craft.. and gathering should be fast as hell... i should be able to teleport to the mountain.. so i can just gather in 2 seconds and not waste any time.. oh and fighting mobs.. the game should detect if im super good and just auto kill the mob for me so i don't have to waste my time killing it. Also.. i should just have 999999999999 health and MP so I don't ever have to worry about dieing again. Matter of fact.. i would like a GM to be on instant call any time i cant figure something out on my own.. so he can do it for me.. wouldn't want to waste time figuring things out, traveling, killing mobs and playing a game, that would be pointless. Its almost like your asking me to.. Adventure or something :/ who would do that? I just want to headshot mobs and get my name at the top of a list for having everything done the fastest like people on Call of Duty! FAST ACTION KILLING! BAM! Mountain Dew and SNiping newbz! anything in between is just too much for me!!!!!!!
You're being just extreme as me. The only difference is that you're being serious. Heaven forbid ANY content be accessible right away. Heaven forbid you not have to run the same path you ran a hundred times before and waste all your playtime just trying to get to where you wanted to play at. The anima regen time is already so low that regular players will need chocobos and airships frequently. Some players wont even wait til they NEED, they'll just use them anyway. Chocobos and airships will get used by MANY MANY MANY MANY people. MOST players will use them...a lot. There is NO need to make any changes to anima in any way. You can no longer validate your argument with your original excuses, so now you've turned to going 'but it'll add conteeeeent!!!'... But content just for the sake of being able to say we have more content is not fun, its BS. Instead of inventing lame quests to acquire something we used to have but they took away; how about the devs spend that time inventing actually useful, repeatable and fun content? Hm?
you dont have to quest for it every day and howabut you go and see how many people are using anima now? hardly any because theyve finished everything to do. I guess SE accomplished what they set out to do, make a game beatable in 5 months. congrats, your a winner. You beat an MMORPG in 5 months.
Not much.
I have played video games since I was 10, I am now 40.
Been there, done that, have the T-shirt for it.
At this point in my life, I just don't have a lot of free time to play games.
So the time I do have to play, I would like to actually play them for the majority of my time, not travel around in them for the majority of my time.
I wonder if I should be surprised that so many people are having such a hard time understanding that not everyone in the world feels the same way they do. The amount of silly arguing and logical fallacies in this thread is ridiculous.
In a case like this, taking away teleportation makes one side happy, and completely removes the other's ideal method of play. Leaving it in allows both sides to continue playing in a way that they desire, since those against teleporting retain the right to walk. The argument for teleportation is requesting a convenient way to play. The argument against teleportation ends up inconveniencing or punishing others who play for different reasons.
Besides your point not making any sense to me, MMOs in general having been taking this route of adding X months of content when in reality its X months of grinding before you can touch content Y. This approach has become standard however, I see this approach as flawed. Content is great to have but it must not be at the cost of tedious grinding and timesinks for that only make the time spent with the less enjoyable while notably longer. Games in general should be more about the joy of playing not the pain of playing.
With that said, I think MMOs have to take the route of having great content that is fun or a blast to replay with others. If FPS can have gamers playing the same maps for years and still having fun, then MMOs with all of its content should be able to achieve the same.
By the way, this isn't about exploration of current game, it sux now, nothing new to explore or any content, its about the future when things get implemented and players get too used to anima, they would be strongly against removing them or adjusting them in anyway and killing an aspect of the game, "new area added, is there a atheryte there?, i dont wanna walk through there, too much high lvl monsters, i need a aethryte." thats just killing the dangerous/adventures aspects of gaming and corner the Dev to make things even easier "All the monsters will not aggro anymore".
its not about making people suffer, it would not only ruin my gameplay, it would kill the entire gameplay because there would be no point in chocobo or airship, "why do i need to take a Chocobo/airship when i can use anima like nothing?" people are walking not because they want to walk, its because teleport is generally used for things such long distance travel.
SE should just remove aethryte from some area and keep the main ones or balanced out so they are distributed only in players gathering places and different continents, for example, other than cities, 2 in Thanalan(east and west), 2 in Black Shroud etc..

Haha yup, what kinda of new player would have 500k to buy a pass, and questing the items seemed fun, i believe thats how i met few of my friends i played with for yrs.
More people than you know, obviously. Not everyone who plays the game is on these boards.
The main point is you think teleporting everywhere is fun. OK, that's fine but how long will that last? You didn't work for that ability, you have no sense of achievement for such an insane power! And if you already have such crazyinsaneawesome powers right off the bat, then maybe you're too awesome to bother doing anything else, why bother? You've got everything you asked for handed to you from the start!
While you can argue that it's convenient, my argument back to you is(and I can safely say I'm speaking for the majority here) Why bother playing a game where you don't need to do anything? Where's your sense of adventure? Where's your sense of achievement? You didn't put any effort in at all and thats what MMORPGs are mostly about, making you feel that you've achieved something of the impossible around every corner, making you work up to being the Hero you want to be.
Hell why not start at rank 50 on 1 job? Then when the rank cap goes up, all of the jobs you have at rank 50 jump automatically to the new cap! I'll tell you why, because it makes the game pointless. You aren't doing anything.
Now who's being extreme? No one here is asking for them to abolish walking. We're not in here going "hurrhurr, lets have infinite anima that never ever runs out and we can instantly port everywhere!" With the current system, tons of people still run on foot all over the effing place. All we want is them to NOT change something.
It seems everyone FOR changing anima seems to have forgotten that its a limited resource that runs out very effing quickly for anyone who plays on a regular basis... They seem to think that anima as it exists now will have people never ever walking anywhere on foot as soon as there's some place to walk to... Yet they completely miss the fact that people ALREADY run around on foot a lot. Anima, as it is now, only eliminates walking for extremely casual players.
My point was i see the need to craft and i also see the need for a little bit of traveling sometimes instead of being handed 100 anima points to teleport across the map whenever i want. You and Crica are good at taking someones suggestions and making them into something different.
