Wel, let me spoon feed to you, in real life you'll have more than one game, plus something else to do besides games.
Should I name them one by one for you?
Obviously you don't have a clue what i'm talking about, sorry for you, kiddo.

Well, I have been looking at some other F2P games... like EQ 2 (I played that a long time ago... the AAs give you some long term playability)... even Vanguard.
Even though they aren't the best games... I can't help thinking that... well, they ARE free... and they provide more playability then one night a week.... so what exactly am I paying for? I seem to be paying for a bunch of time I am locked out of doing what I find fun in the game.... that doesn't make sense.
No thanks, you can see my other response, plus I have RL hobbies. You can see my other post, the problem is that I am ending up paying for 1 night a week's worth of playtime. My other hobbies don't cost money for not doing something. They aren't subscription based.
A subscription based model begs the question from the consumer- what am I getting for paying an ongoing expense? Am I getting entertainment on demand?
In this case, I feel like the answer is yes- one day a week.
I prefer the points being flexible, so I can play what I feel like and use the points to gear up what I feel like. I had 4+ capped characters in WoW and the thought of valor-capping each of them a week was nauseating. Would be nice to have a small cap increase for each 50 DoW/DoM you had though.
re: rollover mythology. If you pay a subscription for a game and didn't use it, it's not the game's fault or problem. The game's not going F2P model for the present so when to sub or cancel is just something you'll have to plan around. Also, rollover myth could be easily abused if they happen to recycle philo/myth tokens for next tier like WoW does - just stop playing for a couple weeks before a patch is incoming and oh hey, a 1800 myth cap on the first week of new content!
I'm going to say that if you're only getting 4-5 hours a month out of this game and you're not happy with it then this probably isn't the game for you. All MMOs are set up to have repetitive tasks, so it really doesn't matter which game you play, you're only going to be able to accomplish so much before repeating content. If anything, it sounds like you need 7-8 MMOs at your disposal at any one time if you want to avoid doing the same stuff all of the time.
I don't really understand this mindset, since once you collect all the gear the game is over for the majority of the population. Is that what players want? The caps/lockouts are there to remind you to slow down, since obtaining all your coil/myth gears faster doesn't make the game better in the end.
BTW, I see a lot of "hardcore" players list "easy to complete" content such as coil/ct/primals as justification for being bored and "done for the week". In most games I've played the "hardcore" players were the ones heavily involved in PVP, since it offers the most challenge and requires more skill and coordination than scripted PVE content. You'd think that all the so called "hardcore" players here would now be including PVP in their list of stuff that they "beat" every week.
TL;DR: bored gear collectors.
If I'm paying to play something I want some satisfaction out of the game. I can only run Coil once a week and not guaranteed a drop. Why do I want to level every other job to a point lower than what I'm already at if I know I'm not going to get gear progression on them? I wouldn't even care if they eliminated the treasure chest and made allagan gear a drop item. I'd have a better chance getting something that way rather than run it once and know I'm not going to get anything.
As someone who works a lot, but also has time to play a lot due to the timing of shifts, i like the Myth Cap and the Coil Lockouts. It'd nice to have Coil behave a little bit like CT so you can run it multiple times with friends/FCmates, but it's fine as it is.
I have my Monk beginning to clear Coil, my Warrior is geared for it but hasn't tried to get in there, my SCH will be ready this week, my Dragoon will be ready as soon as i finish getting my SCH Relic, and my 47 Paladin is already Coil worthy thanks to my Warrior gear.
So color me confused as to how/why it could be difficult to gear alt Job with the current caps and lockouts.
PS:I haven't even been farming CT, which i need to get around to doing ... But i spend my time leveling Jobs and running Primals for fun.
If all you want out of the game is the very best gear right now, MMOs, or at least this one, is not for you, and you clearly aren't enjoying your time spent here so maybe try to find a game that appeals to you rather than trying to force change in game others are perfectly happy with?
As a footnote, Having multiple Jobs ready to receive Coil gear means less wasted drops, and faster gearing up process as you will already have some i90s by the time you finish up your main Job and move to the next.
So you want no caps? OK we'll just increase the tome cost and lower the drop rates instances.
It isn't difficult to grind out a ton of Philos and gear up another job, it's the simple fact that Turn 5 is gear dependent, so as a DPS I can't really advance any further until I can actually contribute the damage need. So why would I gear up a tank or healer to the point that I can do Turns 1+2, then have to wait to go further?
What assertion? That tanks have to learn how to handle WW?
If you are bitching about tanks dragging you down, go be a tank first and come back.
i.e. If YOU can't tank or don't want to tank, you have no right to complain about tanks.
in your opinion it isnt. keyword here :YOUR OPINION.
honestly i hate to be that guy ,but ...if you dont like the lockouts, then leave. i assure you that SE wont ever drop the highest gear lockout. in 2.2 the myth cap may be increased or remove entirely, but that only because the new af2 gear will replace myth gear as the highest tier.
You people and your thought process... Did I ever say fix this or lose my subscription? No. I never said it makes the game unplayable. And as you stated, it is my opinion. So I am entitled to think whatever I want to think if I think it will improve the game. I'm not going to leave anytime soon, but it is annoying knowing that I'm hindered from enjoying the entirety of the game due to a mechanic that prevents me from gear progression. Savy?
Ok, so i'm posting this here ..maybe it's a little off topic maybe not...
I ran CT today = Monday = 1st day of loot reset.
On my 1st run on 1st item drop.. was exactly what I been needing.
Whm Body : woot. I glanced over a the other Whm in our group and sure enough he already was wearing it. This was an automatic score for me. YAY!!!
That said.. i soon realized that this was Monday. and now.. i have to wait exactly 7 more days real time in order to /roll on the next item.
I have 2 other lvl 50 jobs ... had i created alt. characters instead of leveling up my main.. I could benefit going into CT again for each job.
This way...sux. lift the cap on Rolling on loot per job not per character.
yep this is what a lot of people have been asking for. loot lockouts should be per class. i have 7 other classes that will not get any new gear until after a few months. @_@ and ive had all of my classes at 50 by the end of the first month too. thats a lot of waiting
so lets say that SE removed all caps and locks... some of you would have all jobs at ilvl 90 in a matter of weeks... then what? u gonna just raid coil for gear you dont need? raid primals for gear you dont need? i doubt it
Yup Monday ran CT and Coil... and that's it for the week... yay...it didn't even take very long.
Yup. Lockouts make the game a complete snooze fest. I haven't even attempted CT nor Coil and allready feel the staleness of what I have to look
Forward to so strongly that I've lost a whole lot of interest in even starting. Having something to work towards on a daily basis is a must and being able to do it on Your time frame is a huge bonus. 'Something' in the current system is just so lackluster in its appeal.
Well, they technically do. And you can basically get 1-.5 pieces of MAX ilvl, BEST IN SLOT (or near it) gear by spamming WP which anyone with a peabrain can do 15 times a week to get full max ilvl gear. The complainers for wanting an even higher cap are the ones who don't know how to do hard content correctly. Stop whining to Mommy that the game is still too hard for you to gear when you already have access to BIS MAX ILVL gear that shouldn't be accessible from casually DF'ing. People solely relying on myth, if they have been playing since release, is kind of pathetic. And why do you want accees to best gear in such a short amount of time? Just so they can quit and move to another game? Suck it up and realize this a mmo that wants your money long term and people want rewards that aren't a joke to get. Myth gear should be severely nerfed; it is the anti-christ for old generation MMOs that are way better than ARRs current state, which is easily shown by the grandeur amount of complaints on this forum about WoW and ffxi comparisons.
@OP.
Seems like you are moving too fast for the game.
Every game company will do this to prolong the game.
When someone suggested Ex-Modes, you immediately started finger pointing. Not everyone plays at the caliber you play at, maybe we all suck and we are ok with it. That being said, nobody is stopping you from finding like minded individuals and doing Ex-Modes.
I think game/content development happens at a certain pace, which definately is too slow for you. Perhaps come back to the game in a few months when it's more polished/has more hard modes etc.
I understand your problem but I don't think the solution is lowering myth cap or letting people run stuff repeatedly.
I don't agree that the solution is building 3 modes for everything either and calling it a "lot of content".(for example what they do in WoW, lfr/flex/normal/heroic..because that sh1t is nonsense too).
This is the problem with a lot of "old generation MMO players". They deem the path of mindlessly grinding for RNG is the superior path for MMO longevity. Guess what, these days people don't have as much time to play games as thye did anymore. That's why all these games are catering more to casuals, the people who only have 3 or 4 hours a day to play the game. This is the exact reason mobile games like Angry Birds and Candy Crush Saga are popular - you take them on the run, they're easy to play and get into, and they don't feel like they require a significant time investment in order to enjoy.
To take from a different game, even the new Pokemon X and Y games are much easier than they were back in the Black/White 2 era. For starters, breeding quality competitive Pokemon have just gotten so much easier. The EXP share function has been tweaked so that your team levels faster. Horde battles have been introduced as a secondary way of EV training - it's pretty much possible to finish EV training a Pokemon within 15 minutes now. Passing down Hidden Abilities and egg moves is that much easier now. Why? Because Gamefreak/Nintendo realize that not many gamers have that much time to spend on one game - they're either busy with their daily life, or they also want to play other games.
Why should Myth gear ever be nerfed? It offers an alternative gearing route to the "midcores/hardcores" as well FYI. As mentioned, casuals don't have as much time to play, however to also give them the satisfaction of gear progression, they are there. Do tell me the last time you did not use Myth gears to patch your own gearset in order to attempt Coil too.
