Squaresoft is very much alive just minus Hironobu Sakaguchi, though Enix should break up with Square.

Harold Camping said this sort of thing recently to fleece people of money claiming the world was ending and he needed money to save others. It was the same reasons the Catholic Church condemned and persecuted people for believing the world was round. It is all the same thing in my book. Fear mongering.
To answer your question about how many people I have known personally that have been banned? None. Nor have I ever been banned from any game. I have however seen on numerous occasions when a company will throw out bans to blanket a problem and then lift those bans much later down the road when the damage is already done after full investigations are done on the matter only to find out that it was a false accusation or the "proof" provided was doctored. The same thing has happened in real life as well.
Admit to yourself that you ARE on a witch hunt. Admit to yourself that all you really want to see is someone pay and "blood" to be shed for your cause. You really don't care who bleeds, you just want to see a reaction. You want results and that is all that matters. You want action taken to correct this problem so badly that you are willing to throw everyone under the bus just for your own personal satisfaction.
Do I want to see some action taken? Absolutely. I have the patience to wait it out and see what comes of it. If they do nothing to remedy the problem the I will take my business elsewhere. This may not be an ideal plan that they have but it is the best one they have right now. Continuing to force this extremist trash down everyones throat by saying "This is the only way, purity through fire" when it is not the only way, is only you showing us that you don't care to hear anyone else come up with a better plan. You want to paint me as a sympathizer while all I am asking for is a more moderate approach to come to the same conclusion. I take back what I said about you being the SAME threat as RMT or bots. You are worse. Close minded rhetoric and a very narrow view of a much larger picture.
This will be my last post on this topic. I have said what I have to say and heard quite a few good ideas. Hopefully SE will read these posts and be able to sift through the blood thirst to find something of value.
Hello everybody^^
Several pages later. No Hamster I didn't think that at all I know what you were saying :), I was just curious on a side point that I think, it may be possible that they're just building lists for a later date to mass ban, hence the perceived nothing.
There is a large difference between perceived nothing and actual nothing, although when you're looking in from the outside they're identical.
I think on top of the miscommunication or misunderstanding issue you've raised that the perception of inaction isn't helping them at this time and fueling the fire.
You all are the fear mongerers, not me. You balk and whine about big brother interfering with your lives when no one cares about your day to days and never will. You cite mass faulty bannings that never existed. You have no support for the claim that innocents will be persecuted and thrown into lion fights for our amusement.
You have nothing but an irrational fear of what would happen if the STF did what it has to do for this game to be taken seriously.
Or you just want to protect your bots and cheating. The simplest explanation is often the correct one. Many of you will never tell this forum the truth, and that truth is that your alt farms you shards while you sleep, and you have a crafting bot alt because you just gave up 3 months ago and chose to cheat and keep up rarther than not cheat and fall behind at being THA BEST.
You'll never tell us. Your words will just try to protect your behavior. If we knew, everyone would laugh naturally.
One or the other, you're afraid of the irrational or you cheat. This irrational fear of a draconian state is just soccer mom misguided. You don't know what you're talking about, and many of these features are already implemented in good MMOs and not in FFXIV. And if you cheat get out.
You think you're smart and enlightened simply because you've read the Crucible, 1984, and Brave New World? You all see yourselves as Atticus Finch when in reality you're the dystopian fodder who supports how broken the world is. You're not the voice of reason here. Look around you, folks. You're standing by someone who isn't even there.
You are living in a dystopia as we speak. There is no law.
It is not a witch hunt. It is an extermination.
the people who dont want stuff done are people trying to protect themselves
or people who have been hit by one of several other MMos, mainly warcrafts, mass bannings unjestly(warcraft bans people based on gold on account, and im not even kidding there, no investigation, just "you have too much good bye")
now granted the 2nd of these cases are fewer, but fact is, if you dont cheat/bot in any way, you obviously have no reason to defend botting in any shape or form
and if you feel the need to justify it and say it isnt their fault and they dont deserve everything coming to them, perhaps you have something to hide
I don't really take any rank 26 seriously. The bots are all over your head and out of your arena. You haven't even gotten to the part of the game where cheaters have stripped everything dead.
I am Rank 48 actually, check out my profile on the Lodestone Pads, this forum sig thing hasn't updated in months. But indeed, player rank on forums is the most important thing to dive onto when you have boring and tired arguments.
Enough is enough now Peregrine, we get your point, and some are valid, some aren't, but this has gone on for far too long and the fact that I am still even responding to you confuses even me, infact I think I will just stop typing in the middle of th
he meant 26 crafter tops, your 48 is in combat
there is a whole nother world when it comes to high level crafting, and it really is pretty bad to try and sell stuff at the top
though it isnt as bad as peregrine makes it out to be, having multiple high crafts and being high in general gives you more options, you can find whats selling and make some of it rather then only try for the top items cuz obviously they would be worth more(not the case, they arent)
its all about demand, even mid range struff can be in more demand at times and playing the market is part of that
and im getting off topic
He didn't, as according to my sig, im R26 physical and R26THM, with a max crafter of 16. I agree with you though, the economy is mental right now, but I do take quite a strong place in it, as I buy and sell alot of items through the retainer wards, in an attempt at profiteering. It was all I did in WoW for the final 2 months before I laid my cloak and wizard hat to rest for the summer (although firelands is looking pimp). I like playing the economical game in MMo's. You start out with a Fire Shard, and can end up with a Champion's Lance +3 if you play it correctly, (and no I am not referring to undercutting or screwing others over, I mean buying low and selling high, and cornering markets).
I am no stranger to ingame market trends, it's part of why I love MMo's, because the little worlds we play in can be like very real economical climates, with no risk outside of losing virtual property through a poor financial decision (like losing my emperors hairpin in XI through a very stupid AH based mistake).
Bots and things aside, you can still enjoy it and have fun, yes they aren't great, and should be reported, but they aren't the end of the world. I usually find only the weaker players blame them for all the shortcomings in a game, because they can't fight back and defend themselves. True players work around them, and even take advantage of their poorly programmed scripts to make gil out of their sales.
I have no issue with the economy. It takes very little time to make money. 15 gigantoad hide will buy you a stack of silver ore, which is nearly three stacks of silver nuggets. Those silver nuggets can rank up your crafting. You can vendor the items you make for some gil, mostly to cover the shard/crystal cost. There are items to sell to make money. If your items aren't selling, lower the price. But I have a question for you: What do you need gil for besides crafting materials? I don't understand what there is to buy current in game.
Silver ore is so cheap because of botters.
Botting of coblyns continues to counterfeit it.
It's not about making money. It's about the futility of the market due to counterfeit items that shouldn't be there if legitimate players provided legitimate supply.
That goes for shards and metal that should not exist.
They all have something to hide. Whether they got banned in FFXI and pretended they didn't, got their last craft to 50 with a little help from the unsleeping bot and got away with it, or have a little shard-making press of an alt that they stick in a cave overnight so they don't have to buy shards (from the other botters)...every user who sticks their neck out for RMT and the cheating population at large does so for a reason.
All of...this...this protection of the innocent and fighting for civil rights...The I'm-doing-this-so-good-people-don't-get-banned...it's bullshit. They just don't want banned themselves. It's a front to protect their investments, assets, playstyles, or cheap products.
This game needs law. I side with Blizzard. Come up with mathematical mechanisms to determine cheating, then execute those measures once you have proven your cutoff specificity and sensitivity of the test. That is all the proof you need.
The only people who bitch are the playing cheaters who got caught and didn't think it was possible, so they whine about their rights and proof and other nonsense.
RMT just goes hahaha you got us. We'll see you next week, Bliz. You won that time.
That makes RMT the more respectable of the two cheating groups. The cheating player base...the cheating forum poster...lowest of the low.
Since when is silver cheap?
what are you guys smoking
JaJaJa!?...
