Telling people to get out doesn't work when you won't have enough players left to sustain the game if they listen. This reply could be directed to half of the posts from this thread too.

You want a different game? Go play a different game. You like this game? than accept the fact that at some point you WILL have to pay for that character and this game, guildleves and all.
Because it sounds like you want a different game. That you want to enjoy this game isn't relavant. You can enjoy this game at lvl1 the same you can enjoy it at 50. Your playing this game but you want Rift. No amount whining will bring absured amounts of content content to FFXIV in a timely fashion before they start asking for subs. Even FFXI had the release of only several missions every few months.
I don't need to want to enjoy my game. I'm not foolish enough to play one game and expect another.
I enjoy THIS game. I would pay for more of this game.
It's not about playing other games. It's about this game reaching the standards of games that have been recently released or are going to. The game is not there yet - and judging by your post you feel the same way to whether you would like to admit it or not.
As I said a page ago:
I look forward to paying for this game. Unfortunately that is not in the foreseeable future.
This is not something we should be talking about until halfway into August when we have:
- New battle system
- New dungeons for 30 and 50
- New quest hubs
- A roadmap for the future of this game.
I refuse to pay in hopes that the game is going to pick up. Show me that is going to get there and I will gladly give you my money.
You have no basis for your argument except "oh I like this and so should others". Differing opinions and I'm glad I don't have standards that low.
@ Vackashken: You meant pay instead of play. But I agree completely. This game is NOT in any position/condition to be demanding money for its already staggering playerbase.
Don't you understand that paying for this game right now is like a wife that says "He beats me but hes still a good man."?
This might not be a problem with the game but a problem with you. A lot of people keep reminiscent about when FF XI and WoW started and wanting to try and respark that time they had back then. The Truth is a lot of us were immature and young when they did. Hell I was 15? when I first played XI. Its been almost a decade, I turn 25 next month, I just dont have the time to log in and play like I used to, its not that I don't want to, I just have too much work to do.
I'll make that call when the subscription fees begin. If the game is enjoyable for me at that point, I will pay for it. Given the cost of a movie ticket, I don't need to play many hours to feel I've gotten my money's worth in entertainment.
Jesus christ some of you guys can't fucking read, it's astonishing. When some guy says the game is boring and not worth paying for, that's all he means. You keep putting words in people's mouths, going berserk on them because you're so blind you keep misreading. When someone says he doesn't want to pay for FFXIV now, he is not saying he will never want to pay for it.
It's the same for me, if this game wasn't called Final Fantasy XIV I wouldn't be on these forums or on the game, but I hope that someday it will be good. If at some point down the road it is still lame, I'll just say fuck it and leave. If it becomes good, I'll happily pay for it. There's just no fucking way I'm gonna pay for FFXIV in its current state. SE screwed up big time, it's up to them to make it right. If they do, great. If they don't, that's too bad.
And if you like the game now, good for you. But you really are part of a minority, no matter what you think. What SE cares about is the majority, I'm sure anyone can understand that.
Not really, I don't feel I've been wronged or "beaten" in any way. I enjoy the game as it is, flaws and all. That being said I understand that it is far from perfect and that there is a lot of room for improvement. I have hope for the game but at the same time I do enjoy it for what it is now. We have been told what their plan is for the immediate future and I am content with that. Honestly FFXIV is one of the only games I've played in the past few weeks. Between classes ending and work I haven't had a lot of free time but when I do, I play FFXIV.
