Oh, and it's boring and it's been done to death and ps3 limitations. Grass quality. It's just beta. DX99 support. Thanks.

Just like any issue, there aren't just "elitist pc gamers" and "terrible ps3 players". The reality, however, is that ps3 players will have worse performance than the average pc user. In terms of end-game, when performance/communication/player skill are most important, ps3 players are at a distinct advantage. PC gamers have the capacity to have higher average performance, better communication (or at worst; the same as ps3 players) and better skill due to the range of motion allowed by mouse and keyboard being superior to a controller. Those are all facts.
It doesn't excuse people being dicks, or honestly probably won't matter for the majority of players who won't be on the cutting edge of progression anyway, but I, personally, would never even consider trying to do end-game early on with the distinct disadvantages that the PS3 inherently has versus a computer.
It's not a social issue friend, it's a tactical issue. It's no different than guilds in other games not allowing players to raid without a voip; vent, mumble etc. In FF14 especially, due to the multi-party system, communication is extremely important. SE just needs to incorporate an in-game vocal chat system, then this issue would be a thing of the past.
The only time I can imagine PS3 users having issues will be going into Ivory Tower with 24 people. Even then... We only have problems with FATES because there are usually like... 75+ people ontop of the mobs that spawn as well.
If you're not being allowed into a FC because you can't see the FATE mobs all the time than that's pretty much BS/a terrible FC. I play PS3 and have no problem running 8 man dungeons with the mobs on the screen and rarely have any issues playing the game (often times I do better than some of the PC users playing in dungeons :/)
Strangely, between the ps3 that I use, and the recently souped up pc that my husband uses, I find he has more trouble in FATEs than I do. Complains he can't target anything, meanwhile I've learned how to target quickly on ps3, getting as much as I can out of it. Granted, I had the advantage of the beta to get used to it (beta ran REALLY choppy on ps3). As a cnj, i tend to stay back a bit anyways, I wouldn't attempt to be in the thick of it, poor ps3 would explode!
Meh. PS3(PS4), PC. Potato, Patato.
The running issue with PS3 vs PC players is performance. To claim that both types of players will have equal performance at the same skill level is ridiculous and you know that. Moving out of continuous "bad" things while sustaining maximum DPS is not entirely possible for someone with a controller. There is a maximum DPS for a PS3 player and a maximum DPS for a PC player. The same can be said for healing and potentially tanking. I'm not sure if many have seen Turn4 in Coil, but I would take an average PC player over an excellent PS3 player in that situation any day.
Its not a matter of "looking down" on them. We all want to succeed at whatever we're trying to accomplish and will avoid anything that may impede that.
You must not have read this thread, then.
Ugh I know. I hate being able to easily target party members as a healer. It's the worst! It makes my "hardcore playing" absolutely futile. And using abilities? Pshaw. Who ever thought putting triggers on the back of a controller was a good idea? It's totally inaccessible.
I also hate how the poor frame rate on the PS3 hurts PC players. How could you ever play knowing there are some people experiencing the game at a lesser quality than you?!Quote:
Because the frame rate on PS3 is horrid.
We all know that random low-level PS3 players who you will never interact with not using keyboards is definitely a huge problem and warrants looking down on every PS3 player.Quote:
Because the majority of PS3 players don't even use a keyboard with their system at all.
People using your own experiences as evidence that you are right are funny. The facts are the facts. PS3 has performance issues, communication issues, lower range of skill. Even if you are the best player in the world, and you play on ps3, it's irrelevant in the bigger scheme of things; the average player would fare better on pc than on ps3. Fact.
