^ You're entitled to that opinion/viewpoint but just to clarify something... It's 5% not 10% for the extra person. You have 5% already.
The difference probably will not even be noticed as much as the loss of 1 person period.

It's for
4 Party Dungeons = casual, Less planing, Easy to set up, Tank,Heal,Dps,Dps.
8 party Dungeons = Hardcore, Planing, Hard boss, Team work, Setting up timing for spell, maybe need two tanks a healer.
I said this like 5+times now :( they adding that to help casual and hardcore do the dungeons and raids later.
How does that make any sense? It's just a way to make sure only the number of players they want has a fair chance at the encounters. If the encounters are made with the buffs in mind (they probably will be) then the buffs aren't helping you. They're only hindering teams who aren't taking the required number of people.
Also group sizes have nothing to do with hardcore or casual.
Yes it does :) Casual players don't have time to find 7+ members to do a 10-30min event. Yoshio-p explain this in a interview the point was the casual players could easy pick up 3 members to do a casual dungeon. It wont be a hard fight don't need much planing and you really don't need a good set up. 8 player base you need right setup it be much harder take more time and need to explain and time things together.
Many Casual players don't have time to find members this is one of the reason casual players never really played FFXI looking for 5 players in your level was a pain in the ass and it could take hours. Having 4 members and don't really need a great setup could cut the time by more then 70%.
I agree with this completely. People wanted more incentives to party so what did SE do? *sigh* Come on people seriously. Almost everyone agreed the game should have more reasons to form a party and yet people still complain once there is one. Enjoy your reason to find that extra person and the the content that will be balanced around that extra person.
Hell even having 4-7 people have the advantage. So should the people that trio complain about getting an extra person too? How about people that duo? I solo sometimes so I should get a loner buff also...
Seriously when does it end.
I dont see how it is so hard to understand
by giving the buff it controls how many ppl can do what
a 10% buff to 8 ppl is an increase of the party by 80% then without the buff, but a 5% buff to 7 ppl is only a 35% (not real math i kno but its to provide an example)
This lets SE control who can do what content, so they can build hardcore content that requires 8 ppl much harder than they build other content that can be done by 4-7 ppl
and its just one step in the direction they are taking w new battle system and future mobs..... u ppl keep complaining that the house SE is building is shitty when all you see is some foundation being laid......
Plus it helps keep the stats and their effects on def/hp etc balanced, by giving the boost for party stuff, it makes it so ppl running in endgame gear dont simply crush any NM they make solo bc the gear they are wearing is designed to be effective against mobs 10+ lvls than they are (just rough numbers dont fixate on them). by giving the buff to party members when in a party, it helps balance content when not in parties
plus maybe SE added this buff to help players adjust to having their party size cut from 15 to 8?
has anyone tried killing mobs that check "red" or "very tough" last i knew players couldn't grind these mobs. I think that is why they added the buffer. To allow players to form groups and grind mobs outside of levequests.
How are they being penalized? Why are you guys so quick to jump to conclusions when the new battle system, which is clearly what this is intended for, hasn't even been released yet? Lets just wait and see how things play out. And don't forget that its only a 5% and 10% buff, if you have a good group of 7 I'm sure you can manage the less 5% with a couple good mages, not a big deal.
