Umm, with all due respect, what are you smoking? Our damage is negligible right now compared to other dps classes. I feel one of the reasons for this is that the class was released in the last phase of beta. The class needs some significant changes for it to be anywhere near the other dps classes. For starters, the PET damage is friggin PATHETIC. My auto attack with my book at 46 is hitting harder then my Ifrits abilities.. What the hell is with that? That is NOT right what so ever for a class whos sole mechanic is pet control.

I personally would sacrifice a lot of my damage to have our pets doing significant more damage. I play a pet class to have powerful pets and right now that is not the case. Im doing quadruple the amount of damage my pet does. Quadruple...

Don't bother Rover in her eyes summoner does amazing damage heck I do recall her saying that summoners do more damage than black mages.

I do agree that pets need to be buffed thats all that needs to be done, you don't have to touch the summoners spells its the pets that are the problem right now. I am looking at ifrit skills reactive shield. Why does he have it? He will never get hit since he never gets aggro since he does low damage.

It would have been better if it was another dps skill.

Plus the long cooldowns as well along with the low pet damage just makes it sad.

We are meant to be summoners not necromancers stacking dots we are meant to be about the primal punching faces in and pets are meant to be our central theme.

You are 100% wrong. Square-Enix was asked and answered this. Orginally they made the avatars larger however it caused some problems so they reduced them. We have asked they not be as large as XI, but larger than they are now. It was reported as being looked into. There is no lore reason for their present size. SE ran into coding issues, which hopefully they will resolve.

He is correct they said it on the beta forums when people were talking about the egi's size the developers said they were meant to be bigger most likely the size you see them when you are fighting to acquire them.

But they ran into performance issues and decided to reduce the size.

I have to agree these version of the primals are just sad.

I understand peoples complaint about clutter, as a pug in fates if it is not a single boss mob fate i kind of just run into the cluster and spam bot shine. It's nearly impossible to tell which target I have currently selected since the rings on the base are all hidden in the mess that is going on. I can see where having several huge summons running in among the frey and using their own flashy abilities as well could be annoying.

However, this does not excuse just the lack of detail and poor design that is these current summons. I mean hell calling them pokemon is almost an insult to pokemon, I'd much rather be running around with a charizard or a Rhydon then this ifrit or titan. Just up the size a touch and add just over all more detail and design to them, they do just look too cartoonish and out of place right now.

Its almost funny (reading this thread) people are still defending this utterly uninspired, visually insulting, pedestrian class. I'm not sure I buy the "performance" issues jargon completely - I think its more along the lines of a half-assed slapped together class, thrown into the game, just to have a "pet class" at release. The designs are mundane, the lack of detail is almost shocking, and to think this is really the signature class of the franchise.

I also think the class was quickly designed just so that it was ready for game launch.
For now, SE is busy with other stuff but I hope they will look into it in the near future and change both summons sizes and details as well as overall damages.

All of you are being outraged at the wrong thing. None of you even noticed that titan egi is merely a reskinned topaz carby. The egis do not seem to do much at all. They need to have our abilities be affected by which summons we have Pitt in the field. Even so, the other classes are already established, where as summoner was probably redesigned, and what we are seeing is the initial stages.

Well I have said it many times before the summoner itself is fine its the pets that are the problem.
