So will I be able to take things from Archer skill list? I was planning on going MNK archer skills I wanted to know if i could. What is best though in your guys opinion when it comes to secondary class skills? I want to make a top DPS mnk but its hard to find any info out there really.
Some people say Dex is needed on mnk, some people laugh and say its useless on them. I just want a little bit of info if you guys can give a little. I mostly put the points i did get in the OBT into STR. Still new to game and very confused :confused:

In the old days dexterity was an evasion modifier, but if nothing changed from the Beta, DEX now only affects Archer's damage and the general Parry rate.
I would put everything into STR and perhaps a few points on VIT if HP is your thing (too bad monks lost their large HP pool in this FF).
Thanks for clearing that up on my end also. But now about classes... MNK takes pug/mrd now but what skills would you guys suggest i take from other classes to make monk just more efficient.
Yeah but outside of Demolish, when using ToD or Fracture, more so ToD, we waste 2.5 seconds where we could of done more damage than the entire DoT winds up dealing with one boosted skill. Demolish is okay because it gives GL stacks and stance changes to Oppo Oppo.
There are of course situations where you'll apply ToD/Fracture such as, before or while escaping AoE's, before dealing with add's, or dealing with multiple trash mobs. But in straight single target fights the best you'll probably get is by opening with Fracture > ToD > Perfect Balance Rotation. After that until we crunch numbers on GCD reduction applying the DoT's just doesn't seem worth the 2.5~ second cool down.
Ok guys... does anyboady knows if that yellow monk outfit will be dyable? Come on... if that outfit could go black or red it would rock!

1 - for stats allocation... as far as i v been seeing in this topic everyboady is going to put everything in str right? so that should be the way to go... thats fine!
2 - The way to go monk was lv 30 PUG and lv 15 LNC... BUUUTTTT... i v hearded that now to get to MNK u need lv 15 MRD instead of LNC... is that info 100% correct?

Have always loved Mnk. Was my first 75 in XI, and was and still is my career job in XIV. Excited for 2.0 Mnk. One thing I noticed in beta 3 was all of our "damage+" abilities affect our Limit Break damage. Blood for Blood, Fists of Fire and Twin Snakes. Mnk may have the strongest single target ability when fully buffed, so don't forget those buffs before your Limit. Never got to test it in Phase 4 to see if that changed.
As for DoT? I will use them on bosses, but on trash mobs, especially if there is an Acn/Smn in the party they generally die to fast. With most of my Darklight and Greased Lightning my GC was slightly over 2 seconds, so I generally had time to use them. Plus Sch has an ability that increases skill speed of party members by 30%. A fully buffed Mnk will be something to fear.
