Concern about "Branching Classes"
Ok, I love this game. But there is an issue that I have been reminded of by an ls mate that concerned me the moment that we learned that Scholar was a job.
The fact that one class is a..."trunk", of several job "branches"...if you know what I mean. I.E. If you level up anarchist...then summoner and scholar will level up as well. If they plan to do this with every job, then when they finally do release new jobs, then after you do the unlocking quest...that job is automatically at the same level as the class you have for it...which would more than likely be maxed out already. And you'd be given all these new abilities that you would have little understanding of.
This might dramatically cut out game content, and learning the new jobs.
This won't dramatically cut anything. The job system was designed from the beginning to be an extension of the class system. Thus, the game quantity of game content is based around the classes, not the jobs. You may be the same level in both jobs, but you have to choose between them. Both have Arcanist's core ability set, but one shifts the class towards offense, the other shifts it toward support.
