Old Players, New Worlds - A problem arises?

I'm really surprised that they're not just simply wiping all characters and letting customers keep their old names. It would have been a lot simpler then dealing with all the gil reduction and other non-sense.

Does this mean we have to make a new character if we want to play on our regions server? don't tell me you guys listed to the qqing here... It's such a small, and bad portion of the playerbase.

You can't just come in here and make an ambiguous post like that and then leave us hanging... Considering it seems to be in direct contradiction to another post made by a community rep a few weeks ago regarding regional servers, wont you fill us in?

What is happening is that they are placing different worlds in different physical locations, but none of them is going to be region-locked. So if you want to play on a server physically located on germany, despite living on japan, you can. Or you could go and pick the japanese server that is located closer to you.

Yes, no problem. We have the luxury of starting out a new game with lvl50 characters already. Had FFXIV's 1st release had all these cool things, you and I would have had to wait until being able to obtain them as well, instead of coming into it with millions of gil.

Then you transfer to one of the worlds that exists today that was moved to your region. Simple. They said we couldn't transfer to the new worlds, but we can still transfer to a world that existed in 1.0.
