I just noticed the tail armour on "blue Diabolos" – I reckon there's a good chance of it being functional tail armour for the races that need it.

My main point was that anything that requires coordinating a large number of people via Discord is niche by definition. I've never really understood why any game would create content that cannot be attempted purely with in-game tools.
I have no doubt that this new content will be very appealing to a small minority and completely irrelevant to everyone else. Interesting game philosophy.
I love that so many people in this thread so casually ignores the fact that a large portion of the playerbase doesn’t even have easy access to Discord (console players). Like, to do any sort of raid content I have to mute the sound on on my console (I use headphones lol), download and set up a third party program on my mobile, find a separate set of headphones for the mobile lol…
Its not always as easy as ‘just go on discord bro’
That one guy on the far right looks like he's cosplaying the Seraphism transformation, minus the white succubus horns of course.
I didn’t realise it was on console, but I literally talked about discord on mobile so not sure if you actually read the post lol.
I mean, whether or not you can use discord on consoles doesn’t really change my overall point. As the poster said above it’s extremely niche content that either going to be easy and accessible and cause people to kick up shit, or it’s going to be so unapproachable…people will kick up shit.
I just don’t get it. Like they cant reuse assets to make (Hard Mode) dungeons anymore but they’re totally cool with doing it for more raid content? Isn’t Savage and Ultimate enough? Hell there are still races that literally can’t even wear a hat because of technical limitations. Lol. They could at least give non-raiders something more interesting than Allied quests or an FfXI asset flip lol.
Like who is this content even for? I find it hard to imagine that there are scores and scores of people waiting for this 24-man savage raid in this casual game that uses both casual job design and casual encounter design as its core design principle
lol.
I see talk of the races who can't wear hats. I play a miqo amd for what its worth, I never use helmets or most head gear. I like the baseball caps or the far eastern ribbon but I hate covering my characters face. I hide helms in any RPGs that have the option. I know it sucks certain races can't wear certain stuff though. I always like seeing players faces, looks more personalized imo.
Even miqo don't get the quality we used to. I'm replaying ARR on a miqo alt and all the hats have ear-shapes built into them or the ears can poke through. Pretty much every hat in DT didn't even acknowledge we have ears at all. Every time this expansion I put a hat on I left disappointed.
It feels lazy and low quality and therefore I mostly use old hats, or the few headbands/paladin crowns that don't really cover your head.
Don't they have phones? No seriously, I help run a discord server and it has lots of console players in because they've linked it to their account, while others ask for help with their mobile settings all the time.
Also, if for some reason they couldn't use discord and it ends up being required, then the content isn't for them. There are plenty of people that don't use console and so that's who I would be referring to if that is in fact the case (but it's not).
Not really. Everyone could just join the discords and participate.
And as I extrapolated, a lot of people have cleared it - I saw these mounts everywhere for years. When in SHB, I easily saw the majority of people at hunt trains getting out the DRS mount ie. the people who actually play the game.
It can though. Discord is just for carrying people / making it easy for people. Those that know the fights could prob just exit discord and type in the chatbox if that's even needed (usually isn't).Quote:

This is why we got Island Sanctuary. Because that's relevant to all the people who want peaceful, unchallenging solo content that requires no coordination whatsoever.Quote:
