How do I spend more than 1 hour doing content in this game?

Evergreen content so this is valid.

Farming dungeons for glam

There is only 1 new dungeon to farm glam..

Crafting

This point would fall under both leveling and mount farming

Savage

Savage has been out for 4 months lmao

Ultimate

Valid in 2 days

Extreme

this would fall under mount farming

Unreal

This is a weekly piece of content. I do 6 clears on 3 characters total and it takes about an hour a week...

Gold saucer

Content that has been in the game since ARR lmao. though edit: I guess this can still be classified as evergreen content

Mount farming

1 new extreme to farm a mount...50 clears doing 1 a day wouldn't even get you half way through the patch. I don't know how big the Crafting grind is for that mount though.

Beast tribes

A daily task that is very quick to complete. This would barely add any play time daily.

Music farming

I don't know every piece of music that might've been added in this patch, but I believe this would go hand-in-hand with any other point you've made

Triple triad card

Same as music farming

Alts

This game's whole selling point is not having an alt.

Working on house

This has to be a joke

Relics

The new relic isn't out yet lmao

This is not gameplay

This entire thread is "Here's what I like to do that takes time," followed by "I don't like that, that doesn't count." Again followed by "Then you can't complain because the content exists, not the content's fault you don't want to do it."

Same as every other "what is there to do" thread.

Others need to accept that not a lot of people want to catch every fish in the game, and that's ok.

For everyone else, do what you like. Try new things. If the game no longer is satisfying to play, see the url above.

The game has changed to follow the needs of the JP player base. The shift to 1 hour content or less has been requested on their side so they can play the game with what little playtime they have as they now have jobs and families.

Being able to play 15 min here, 30 min there, everything in a week in under 2 hours is what they wanted.

Like it or hate it, this is a JP game and they will meet their needs first.

We may see longer playtime stretches if the game gets ported to the Switch 2 or a viable PlayStation or Xbox mobile systems appear. Then they can play the game during their commutes on the trains.

Until then, this is what we have.

News recently broke that Sony's working on a Switch competitor for PS5, but I have no idea how many years away that would be releasing or if XIV would even be compatible with it.

Clearly the gameplay loop itself is not engaging.

Proceeds to come back and attempt/clear each raid tier for 5 and a half years. See you again in Spring, or a couple days if you are an ulti gamer! (you're not. Getting carried off patch doesn't count)

And yet, PVP aside, this is literally the only thing I've had fun doing in the game as I run out my sub time.

I guess it's just a testament to me actually engaging with all content in the game but I never run out of things to do. Most recently doing reprog in UCOB, UWU and working on DSR. People act like this game doesn't have content to do, as if they are all achievement hunters when what they really mean to say is, "this game doesn't have content that I want to do"

If that's it then go ahead and unsubscribe. It's that simple.
