How do I spend more than 1 hour doing content in this game?

Seriously, I just hit my very miniscule 450 tomestone cap, I ran M4 once then got locked out of further rewards, I did the alliance raid for the first time today and now I have to wait before getting more rewards for that, as well. For a game that encourages doing everything on one character, why is it such a slog to gear ONE JOB? I know they cover roles like healer, tank, magical ranged etc. but still. I really want to get my sub's worth but it feels like the game keeps pushing me away whenever I try to do something.

Do I just go back to farming Ex mounts? What is this?

The only reason I can sometimes play more than 1 hour is because I still have jobs to level. Once everything is 100 I'll probably be interested in the answers here.

I used to only level WHM and SMN, but due to feeling like this I used to quit after .1 patch and just wait for the next expansion.

I'm hoping by the time I'm finished maxing all the jobs we will have a relic grind or something. We need more activities for our main jobs that usually hit 100 just from the story.

The only reason I still log in and hang out more than once a week at all is
1) Savage
2) Want to meet up with friends and just...hang out, I guess? Do some maps? Help each other with Khloe journals? Admittedly the game is more just a thing to do with our hands and feel like we're interacting together while just hanging out in voice chat talking about our days.

If I didn't have either of those? Yeah, I don't know what reason there is to log in more than once a week at most.

Have you given Eureka a go? It's not for everyone, but during the content ~draught~ of Endwalker I got over the fear of 'omg all my friends say they'd rather die than step a foot into eureka' and it was surprisingly relaxing. You could make it a goal to work towards unlocking Baldasion Arsenal and getting the Ozma mount if you haven't before.

I'm not sure how it's like in NA but surely you have communities that host that content still no?

Other than that I'm honestly stumped...
I could say unreal if you haven't but it's another 'haha you cleared it for the week, cya next week'....

idk man, you sound like you still have other contents(mount for example yourself) to do but you just don't wanna do it yourself so?

Ultimately it really depends on whatever you are willing to do
I could list off a lot of aspects in the game you could participate in, and that many still do (with the exception of deep dungeons, maybe, but I haven't done any of those myself in awhile.)
but a lot of people view the content as dead and thus not worth the time
So it's really hard to recommend anything

Eureka, Bozja, Relics
There's plenty to do in past expansions if you've already done everything you want to for this one
Could even help FC mates get through some of this content or introduce them to it
I always enjoy bringing new people to Eureka myself, it's a lot of fun

and for anyone curious, be sure to look into potions of harmony
They buff your EXP while in the zone to make leveling go a slight bit faster

Though I'm pretty sure you can buy the augmenting items for sacks of nuts, can't you? Or whatever the current hunt currency is

Reads to me like OP is mostly interested in gearing up, and if they want to circumvent any timegates, best they can do is farm Aesthetic Tomestones for Rain so the crated i710 crafted gear can be upgraded to i720.

Or one can do the daily hunts. Doing ShB / EW / DT Hunts nests 330 nuts per day (and another 300 per week for the weekly targets), which can be exchanged for upgrade materials. (mind, that is still timegated, but it can help a bit)

Though it requires a few out-of-game resources to keep track of and see announcements for them, you can also join hunt trains for a veeeeeeeeeeery rapid gain of Nuts and plenty of Aesthetics, it is dependent on other people of course, and somewhat timegated, but it is still plenty good, and the limit of the "out-of-game resource" is to join a Discord server and keep pings enabled, I remember going through tens of thousands of Nuts per day on good days back in EW.
