Just like FFXI, make all Artifact armor wearable by all classes

Not sure why so many people stuck on "Artifact is for job identity". Each job has its own weapon they use. Out of all the duties I have done and all the people I have seen all over the areas, I have seen maybe a handful of players wearing artifact of any kind.
Unlocking it would open up more options to mix and match parts of sets and that is never a bad thing for anyone. Sad how little minded people are "If I don't like it or want it no one should have the options." Everything, but weapons since each job has a different one should be fully unlocked. If you want to wear something why not.

I want that. I also want monks in PLD armor. I want summoners in Dragoon gear. I want SE to let people do what they want to do. There are a lot of naked elephants and frogs. WAR wearing BLM gear is the least of the problem. And SE already puts NPCs in the game which have bad sets to their weapon.

In this regard I am actually surprised they haven't done this already with the Virtu gear that you get from PvP, I mean, I can actually understand this one since it's pretty quick to get the requisite crystals, but it still feels pretty redundant a feature.

Now another one that strikes me as interesting is the Costume Attire you get via Skybuilders' Scrip (e.g., Boltfiend's Costume Attire) - Sorry but this is utterly redundant and laughable at best. - You get Level 80 on the requisite class before you even get the necessary scrip. - What is even more bizarre is these costume attires are only equipable at 80 in the first place.

It just feels like they've already had missed opportunities

This is my biggest annoyance. Like, artifact gear is all well and good when you only have a couple of classes you can usually use it for glams. But once you become Omni 60+, it is all worthless. I can never really use the AF for Machinist on my Machnist unless I A) Maintain a unique glamplate for machinist or B) keep a whole other set of gear glamoured for the class to separate it from my BRD and DNC.

I would love to be able to use the lvl 60 AF SCH gauntlets, but I cant because I also need a glamour for my White Mage and Astro.

And people complaining about class fantasy... we have people who wear frog heads, swimsuits, and more. Letting me use the lvl 90 paladin plate armor set to make a sick armor-plated tank glamour for all 3 of my tanks is not going to break class fantasy for anybody as long I am still running around whacking people with a shortsword and shield and using Paladin spells. And even that is optional because I could be running around with a Zantetsuken glam sword and an invisible shield.

AF gear is iconic gear for that job from a long legacy of visual design from decades of games. AF gear and its look is literally bigger than FFXIV. See the X and I and V? The 14th is a long line of Final Fantasy titles and one in a vast sea of games that have a brand.


Did people forget that Yoshi_P had to ask the company just to name Hi-Fire 2 and Hi-Blizzard 2? He had to get permission just to name spells a certain way. Did we all forget that he was hesitant on adding male viera until he spoke with the person in charge of that part of the IP?



Do people really think the FFXIV team gets to do whatever they want.? Do people really think they get to destroy every trace of job identity just because they want a ribbon? And instead of asking for a ribbon, they ask for all AF glams to be unlocked? The answer is no, an explicit no. There are things they haven't commented on or said "maybe later" for like damage indicators. But this was an explicit no. They aren't changing their minds on it.


This request seems to come from two things really. No respect for the IP and the inability to accept no for an answer.

You are right. Its 14th entering of the series. That means they should finally learn to not make stupid restrictions. I dont know whats so horryfing about idea, that I could use fisher gloves glam on my other DoL, or even on DoW/M jobs. Or MCH boots on my bard. Everybody is crying "BuT mY fANtasy reeeeee". No, nobody cares. Its mostly dead glam that is limiting, only few people use them and it would make it only better to unlock it.

I seriously want the source of this, because if it from some interview that I missed, it would be interesting to read. But I dont believe it was this. If you seriously think that YoshiP, producer of the game needs to ask about every stupid little thing to higher managment, he would be fired. He is literally managing the biggest profiting project SE now have. No, he is not some puppet. He is DIRECTOR of the game.

Male Viera is cannon, so this is pure bullshit. You didnt played FF12 so what are you so mad about? You dont even know what you are talking about holy shit. They didnt wanted to do them, because it was a big load of work to bring Viera/Hrothgar into the game and they just dont want to bother fixing stuff for new races. Not because of IP.
